I'm headed to St. Andrews for the match vs Southampton on September 1st. This will be my first game since about 1990 (when I emigrated to Canada), and I'm hoping someone could provide some guidance on things like getting to the match, timing, and any other things that I should be aware of.

I'll be staying near New Street Station, does it make sense to walk to the Stadium via Digbeth? Is that too far? Are there any potential issues with walking back to the city centre after the game?

How early should I arrive for a weekday 8pm kickoff? Obviously, I'm keen to take in some of the pre-match atmosphere and maybe grab a beer.

Is there anything else I should plan for, or know? Thanks for your help.

I'm bringing two other Canadians with me. This will be their first ever football match. We're headed to the UK to see some bands, and they said "hey maybe we could go see a Premier League game too". Somehow I managed to convince them to see Blues instead. We have tickets in the upper corner of Block 1, which may be obstructed view (the club says they aren't but, the seats next to them are, so we'll see). But that doesn't bother me too much. I just can't wait to be back.

Has anyone actually seen anyone reliable saying we are getting Paul Mitchell in as director of football?
Honestly, I heard it myself well over a month ago, then see it on X by a few people I have no contact with at all which made me think it maybe true. But then radio silence again.

Anyone know anyone that knows anything or knows anyone that does? It would be a massive appointment, the sort we should be making.

Is this what we’re doing now Gardner has gone? I saw Graeme Souness the other day saying that it’s nonsense and proper football men should be making these decisions.

Were we hasty letting Gardner go given we are struggling to identify players or get deals over the line?

The January recruits do look great business, which is why I think we should’ve stuck with the same recruitment people.

Might be a different opinion to most but I would have Neumann in there and choose between Fry and Klarer when all fit.

I definitely would not be looking to sell him would cost more to replace him I think.

And we're back!!

I think we'll go strong on this one as a final prep for the league season.

With that in mind I'm going with a 2v1 away win.

Priske and Vincente on the score sheet.

I'm thinking of running this as a prediction league table for all competitions this season. 5 points if you get the correct result and score, 3 if you get the correct result and 1 teams goals correct, 2 points for the right result but not the goals and 1 point if you get one of the teams goals correct.

I would leave out the goalscorers.

It's a lot to keep track of every match day but if there's enough interest for a bit of run I'll have a go!!
