t20 Sunday there were 10,500 people there. Mainly because the tickets ranged from £40 to £70. They've hurriedly had to introduce buy one get one free for those that went Sunday to recoup sales [www.glamorgancricket.com].

I went but only because you could get a family ticket for 4 for £80 which seemed reasonable value.

For the game against Liverpool Sunday i can't see anywhere near a sell out either. I'm not going as its on tv and very expensive (i'll go to the Wigan game). The current board have done okay with ticket prices but what are the thoughts on it?

Are fans finally cottoning on and not becoming cash cows to the various sports?

I've just taken Martin Lewis' advice and thought I'd pass it on to you too. :D

As you probably know, if you are travelling to the USA you need to complete an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) application form in advance. However, from tomorrow they will be charging £9 (I think that was the amount) for the application. So it's well worth completing it today while it's free. You can complete the form even if you're not sure whether you might travel there - it's valid for 2 years and costs nothing to apply today.

I've just completed my application online - really simple (as long as you have your passport to hand). (tu)

Right, I have an interview at a leading Midland's law firm (their words and not mine) on Thursday. The interview is for an admin position, I intend to do some serial arse-licking, etc in order to gain promotion from within and obtain a training contract. I have no formal interview experience and I'm looking for some help on what I should be doing and how i should present myself, is a full suit o.t.t.? It's one-one with an associate lawyer? Also, what will an office skills aptitude test involve? Just a type test?

One of my muso friends just sent me this link:

The friend is someone who used to be in the ELO, now lives in the States, but came over to Edinburgh to catch the Spiegeltent at the Festival. Saw this outfit called Smoke and Mirrors who're some kind of Rock/Cabaret/Circus show. He was tangentially involved with the Rolling Stones' attempt at doing something similar with their Rock 'n Roll Circus, so reckons this lot have pulled off what they (and later Ronnie Lane) tried to do. Apparently, Pete Townshend's been following them, with a view to some kind of joint tour with them and The Who. Older readers will remember The Who hijacked the Rock 'n Roll Circus, blew The Stones away and mightily pissed of Jagger in the process.

I read the other day in the herald express (my local paper for Torbay) about a man who was tragically killed near totnes, when a hay bale rolled off a steep hill and crushed his van (him included). It got me thinking that you never know what's around the corner. That man died almost instantly and would have had no idea it was coming. So the message is don't take life for granted.

Today I found out that the man killed was Mike Edwards, the cellist for ELO. God rest his soul.
I doubt many of you saw that coming...
