Matt Le Tissier

Arguably one of the most talented players we've seen in English football in recent times. Yet he finished his career with 8 England caps and no recognised winners medals.

Loyal or coward?

I personally think he took the easy option staying at Southampton and because of that is now reliant on Sky Soorts for a living. Waste of a god given talent.

Am I wrong?

Better to be remembered as a club legend, go into folklore, get a statue and be remembered than have a handful of seasons winning league cup medals.

I think Shearer and Le Tiss did the right thing.

He does nt come across as a man with regrets ,a great player who will always be worshipped at Southampton

Yes you're wrong. Football would be a much better world if more players were like him.

Loyal.

My favourite English player of all time, barring Gazza.

I think Le Tissier did launch it forward a lot - into the back of the net.

Great player, Southampton legend, scored great goals and fitting that he scored the last one at The Dell. Seems a bit of a bellend on tele though.

I'm certain Hoddle tried to sign him for Chelsea?

I lived in Hampshire in the late 80s to mid 90s, so had the pleasure of seeing him many a time. As much a legend at Southampton as TF was at Blues. Lucky to see them both in their prime.
