Worst Blues Away Following

What's the worst Blues away following that you actually part of? Anglo Italian doesn't count.

Mine was Saturday before crimbo 1987. Blackburn 2 Blues 0.

Steve Archibalds debut for Blackburn

Around 300 Blues in the big away end at Ewood. Said to my mate not a bad following. Blackburn scored and around 200 start clapping and cheering. Mainly old boys in flat caps.

No more than 100 blues in attendance.

Pound for pound the worst Blues following I have seen was that Sunday morning at West Ham when we won 1-0 and Zigic scored.

Thousands there for the semi-final a few days earlier. Tens of thousands belly-aching about Wembley tickets, about 250-300 there for the league game.

Diabolical it was.

I'll go for Upton Park as well. 1992 v Charlton ended 0-0 and it was the live game on ITV.

total shit.

total attendance about 4,000 with about 200 Blues.

Yes I was in there.

Tranmere away just before Christmas 1990 is another shit one. Friday night, no transport, me and Razzle took a National Express to Liverpool. Underground to Prenton and then very late ran 2 miles to the ground. lost 1-0, memorable for a huge "Northern Blues" flag and nothing else. Journey back was torturous with coach stopping in Stoke and Wolverhampton.

What about the Friday night at Wigan in the fog?

All those delays on the motorway which we managed to miss more by luck than judgement.

There were about 150 Blues there, I kept thinking it would be alright because once all the people stuck on the motorway got there it would fill up. Turned out that was all we had...

Friday night games have always been rubbish. Tranmere specialised in them. There was a 5-1 defeat at Tranmere on a Friday as well.

Nah there somewhere between 900 and 1200 there that day I'd say. Not a bad following.

The Upton Park one that Spike referred to is the one that sticks out for me.

Bristol City away last season, no singing for an entire 90 minutes, should have been 5-0 down at half time if it weren't for the heroics of Tommy, every player was awful, Bristol fans giving everything at the Blues fans who just took it with hands in their pockets watching the game checking their watches.

Absolute dire, especially when sat in the away end

We took about 300 to Blackburn on a Wednesday night in the cup in about 2007. We had played them away the Sunday before so it was the second trip to Ewood Park in 4 days.

Richard Kingson knocked himself out by smashing his head off the post and we lost 3-0.

I can remember a good few games in the mid to late 70's where I'm sure there were some other Blues fans there, but you'd never know it.

Also the first Fulham semi final was pretty shit, thousands and thousands all on huge terrace, and every one of them had taken a vow of silence

Lost 5-1 at Rotherham late 80's, not many Blues

Swindon away when ian atkins tackled a fan on pitch was empty on away terrace

Bolton in the rain, lost 3-1 and many got legged agterwards. Bolton fans singing " you could have come in a taxi"

Southend on a Friday evening near christmas was poor if my memory serves me right?

Leeds away around 87, lost 4-1 about 300 there

Barnsley in 88 in league. Had about 4k at the fa cup game & 200 at the league game

Too many poor turnouts in the mid\late 80's, very early 90's to mention

I went to Scunthorpe on a Monday night game. I think it was on tv. We won 2-0. Away support was just all the weirdo's. Barry Fry era. I think Claridge may have scored one of them.

Not the lowest but a more recent surprising one was Ecks first game away at Spurs on the Sunday afternoon, live on sky I suppose but I remember thinking where the feck is everyone

Cracking game too with Larsson's screamer in the last minute to win it 3-2.

Was any one else there and recall how many blues?

I remember going to Grimsby on a Tuesday night in the mid 90s (Barry Fry era, may have been a Cup game). 1-1 draw, no more than 300 there.
Also Southend on a Tuesday night - not many Blues there either. We lost 4-0, Collymore played for Southend that night.

I remember an away game at Millwall that Kaz Brady asked for ID for anyone who went.

This was after the riot (handmade hand grenade incident) at our place.

Not many blues at this one.

I was in the Millwall seats for that, some of the comments were chilling, a whole step up from the usual vitriol.

Us Landahn lot had to get on a supporters coach after the game.

Got bricked on the Old Kent Road and when they dropped us off on Tower Bridge the Rozzers picked us up!

My mate swears the lowest ever was something like a full members cup game away v Charlton, possibly at the Valley? Reckons there were easily less than 100 Blues, total crowd was only something like 817.
