Blues just need to show a bit more urgency, close down the opposition and create chance for the forwards.

“Isaac Vassell is not fit yet, but he should be available to be on the bench on Saturday (against Preston) and play a part in the game,” confirmed Redknapp.

“They (the physios) thought this morning that starting him might just be stretching him a little bit too much.

“He's had a hamstring (injury) and he's never had one before.

“You don't want to just throw him in and he goes and tears it and he's out for eight weeks or something.

“You've just got to go steady with him.”

Why are we discussing making changes at all. How do you get consistency throughout the team if you chop and change it every single week.

We don't play for Lee Clark anymore. When Rowett came in he kept the team the same core whether we lost or won, the players will never gel if they are playing in a different formation or position or with different partners every single game. And they will never settle if they think they are just one loss away from not making the 18 for the next game.

Choose a core, stick with 4-2-3-1, let the team know who is the main men and where they are expected to stand and pass to, let them know whether they hoof it, play one touch, pass or be direct, whip crosses in, play down the middle.
