The difference is the amount of minutes they are fit to play.

I'd give Jota the first hour on the right wing.

Start Vassell

Start Lowe, sitting in front of the back 4.

Use Adams off the bench.

OK... can see that ... but they could still start and be subbed OR come off the bench and the amount of time that they are fit to play does not relate to the original point about muscle injuries which can happen at any time... 1 minute in or 50 minutes in or, indeed, sometimes during the pre-match warm-up!

I'm looking forward to seeing them on the telly tomorrow. Mind you, I was looking forward to seeing them against Burton and that didn't turn out too well. One of our new defenders, under no real pressure, hoofing the ball out for a goal kick at the other end.

It makes more sense to bring on the "speedsters" as the game begins to slow? It means they don't have to bust a gut/hamstring to work their way into the game as they would starting?

As I see it a lightning attack eg Adams+Vassell is a huge threat while the game is still alive for a team ie scoreline level or ahead.

Because pace needs space to run into. In an open game it can rip opponents to shreds, best when you are ahead and your opponents are chasing the game leaving gaps in behind. But as soon as the opposition is ahead they can sit deep which massively reduces the impact of of quick players.

Given the general lack of goals in the team if they are fit enough for the matchday squad I think they need to start so they have as much impact as possible. Be solid in defence and midfield and chip the ball over the top for Adams and Vassell to chase is not such a bad game plan imo compared to the alternatives.

Vassell has been our most dangerous player every time he's been on the pitch, in fact it's the only time we've ever looked a threat.

Not starting him would be mental in my eyes, don't worry about bringing him on against tired legs, let him run their defence all over the place from the off, we have Che to come on later anyway.

He's confident, he can score, he plays with no fear, gerrrim on the pitch for as long as possible.

I'd play Maghoma on one wing since Cardiff have two speedsters out wide and Grounds needs protection like a penis in a Thai brothel, but I am excited to hopefully see Boga, Jota and Vassell play together.

I just can't stand Maghoma though. Not sure he deserves to stay in after lazy and dog-sh*t performances against Sheff Wed and Hull.

I'd hate to see Boga start left wing again. He looks much better when he drifts into the middle.

In fairness to him, he's been involved in the vast majority of our goals.

Would love an upgrade though.

Don't think Cotterill will allow him to take the piss either

I agree, Boga will be a different animal in the centre.

I just think we need to look after Grounds a little, Mendez-Laing and Hoilett switch a lot and he could get a good seeing to if we isolate him.

We will see, just hope we score a few flippin goals.

I have a feeling it will be quite a conservative line-up.

The whole 'back to basics' noises coming out of the club make me think that we'll see Kieftenbeld, Cotterill, Gleeson and Robinson have parts to play again. Hope I'm wrong.

I've got Sheffield United in a tricky League Cup tie tonight. Fancy us to win it though, so I'm going with

Vaesen
Grainger Hutchison Purse(c) Gill
Hughes O'Connor Luntala Lazaridis
Horsfield Marcelo.

Still trying to get hold of a decent pacy right winger so I can put Hughes back in the middle behind the front two.
Magna on Cotteril -
Appoint 2 guys who turn the team around in 3 games - Appoint the 1 of them and remove the other Lose 6 in a row - Sack him and appoint the other.

I really can't see Cotterill starting Vassell, Adams, Boga and Jota in his first game in charge, on the back of a 6-1 loss.

He will bring back Kieftenbeld I think. Try and make us hard to play against, with Juke up top on his own.

Really hope Vassell starts though.

If you've got the money I'd recommend Stefan Selakovic at Halmstad. You can get him for 500k.

Depending on the interest in him, Julius Aghahowa is a great option at Shakhtar too.

You'll also be mad not to upgrade on Jerry Gill by signing Mike Duff for £50k from Cheltenham. He's gone on to win trebles with me at Dortmund, Newcastle and Bruges whilst winning European Defender of the Year.
Only at Blues.
