FFS how on earth can you take this rag seriously

Last paragraph reads like this.

"They have yet to beat United in their 25 subsequent attempts but you wouldn't bet against Gary Rowett’s away day raiders picking something up at Old Trafford nowadays."
Turn left when you get on a plane.

39 years ago today - Blues upset the form book

Blues 5, Man United 1. This is up there as one of my best days at St.Andrews. It wasn't a score I expected, given the awful start to the season that we had. When Joe Jordan scored for them after about 15 minutes I feared the worst, but we bounced back with goals from Kevin Dillon, and Alan Buckley with two (on his home debut if I remember correctly) before half time. Two more goals from Don Givens and Jimmy Calderwood in the second half gave us a final score of 5-1. Now, did anybody else who was there see that coming?

Blues line up was Freeman,Tarantini, Dennis, Towers, Gallagher, Page, Dillon, Buckley, Givens, Calderwood, Fox.

Man United - Roche, Buchan, Houston, Nicholl, B.Greenhoff, Coppell, McCreery, McIlroy, J.Greenhoff, Jordan, Macari.

It was just one of those games that are few and far apart with blues. Remember being there and not having international breaks every month

My overwhelming recollection of that match was Tarantino running towards the corner flag with a United player behind him and Tarantino bending his arm and smashing his elbow into the United players jaw.

Probably the most obvious sending off ever, but the ref made an arms moving gesture to indicate that there was no malicious intent, just natural coming together.

Unbelievable!

I think it was the 10th game of the season, or something like that, we only had 2 points from 2 draws at that point. What a day.

Was some game after the way we started that season.
Think I can just about remember Buckley scoring a screamer from the edge of the box at the railway end

When the media asked Tarantini what had happened to Greenhoff, he replied "maybe he felt tired".

I remember it looked like Givens was on the edge of the penalty area when he headed the ball... went like a rocket into the net ... it's probably been exaggerated by my memory over time but it's one of the best goals I've seen
