Everton were probably worried we'd ruin him, and also send him back injured.

I'd say it's fair enough. If we were half way up the table instead of in the relly places he'd probably be given game time and the chance to improve himself and us. Our situation, as the gaffer sees it, means that he will not be trusted with a starting place, which is no use to him nor to his parent club so, we've been honest with them, they've been honest with us and the lad's gone back. Why wouldn't he?

Because we need someone to pass the ball to Jota, Adams, Boga, Maghoma etc regularly. We've got no one else to do it as well as he can imo

Yep, I understand that Rab, but in Steve Cotterill's opinion he's not going to be doing that and, despite your beliefs to the contrary, Cotterill manages Blues, not you :D

If what Cotterill sees in training is a youngster who's not yet able to impose himself on a game then he's not going to be inclined to carry him "just in case", not in our current league position. It's a risk he's not willing to take because the stakes are too high. We need a Rowettesque back to basics, hard to beat, stop the rot mentality rather than a Zolacoaster pass 'em off the park and dazzle them with our skillz game plan. Unfortunately Cotterill currently has a team displaying the attacking flair of Rowett and the defensive nous of Zola, the dozy twonk :(

Cotterill won't be Blues manager long.
Especially if Pulis gets sacked imo

The kid never had a chance.

More or less man of the match against Preston, and not given an another chance.

Would have been nice to have given another chance. Hope we haven't fecked his head in.

Down to the players in the interim, innit. If they won't sort their act out for him, who do they want? Not Zola, not Arry, not Cotterill... Will they do it for Pulis?

Come January either they go or Cotts does imo. In an ideal world it would be both.

I'd blame the managers before the players. The 3 managers you mention have got it wrong too often.

Nah, not having it Rab. Appy Arry didn't become a shit manager over night. Cotterill's not the best but he's a damn sight better than the showing they've given him. Three successive managers have all been completely wrong whilst the one constant - the squad - are blameless? Not a chance. If you took your car to three different reputable mechanics (alright, two reputable mechanics and an Italian who used to drive really well...) and your car was still a bag of nails that let you down every week would you blame the mechanics or the fact that you bought an Austin Rover?

These days managers carry the can regardless because it's impossible to sack the players and the stakes are to high to gamble on the youth.

Our set up and way we play isn't conducive to getting results.
Take our best 3 performances of the calendar year out the equation, and the worse 3 and you're left with what we are generally like and that’s a side who plays little football, concedes regularly, creates little and scores less.
Not one of our last 3 managers knew their best 11 or way of getting the best out of them.

So maybe you need to ask yourself why none of them knew their best 11? Maybe there isn't a best 11? Maybe whatever they've worked on in training and have subsequently decided on a starting 11 to implement is fecked up buy the starting 11 rather than the manager?

If you have players who are good one week and the abysmal the next then how can you settle on your best 11?

Our current manager played David Cotterill at right back in our last home game. Are you saying it's the players fault they don't perform well even though they're being played in a position a pebble could tell you doesn't suit them?

Doesn't that tell you that the bloke who should be playing in that position is now unavailable or not trusted to play there? Is that the manager's fault?

Every manager at every club at every level is accused of the same thing, even the likes Fergie, mourinho, Conte and Guardiola, so what conclusions can you draw from that? That ALL managers are clueless? That it's a giant conspiracy to wind up football fans who are convinced they know better than the manager based on seeing 90 minutes every week and reading some online gossip?

David Cotterill played very well that night. I was surprised the manager brought him on at RB but credit where credit's due..... The manager's made loads of errors, but that wasn't one of them.
