Big name teams not in the world cup

I get the point that if you dont qyalify then you more than likely arent good enough but there are some big teams missing that im disappointed about....

Ghana, ivory coast, cameroon, algeria, united states, chile, netherlands, wales, austria, italy...

It will be nostalgic for teams like S Arabia, Iran, Egypt etc to play in the WC but they will just be canon fodder whereas the teams above are all more than good enough to get to the last 16/quarters

I'm just chuffed that we've got at least three Blues legends at the World Cup - Aliou Cisse, Seb Larsson and Chiekh N'Doye.

Happy days as far as I'm concerned.

Anyone who has had the misfortune to follow their team in Italy will be delighted that these cheating cowards are not going to the World Cup.

They are not good enough to qualify, the end.

It’s not that difficult to understand.

Ps Cisse and N’Doye are not certs to be there yet

I think the point is teams like Italy and the Netherlands are far superior to the likes of Saudi Arabia who came through an easier qualifying process. It's always been the way though. You're never going to have a World Cup involving the best 32 teams in the world.

Italy not being there is surely good news for England.

They always get it together at the World Cup.

3 places left in the WC all decided by tomorrow night...

Honduras or Australia

Peru or New Zealand

RO Ireland or Denmark

all 3 first legs were 0-0

I think Australia, Peru and RO Ireland to qualify ... just to rub salt in the wounds of NIreland

Yeah but that would be like saying Accrington Stanley are better than Crystal Palace because they've had such contrasting seasons. They can only play the teams they're up against and whilst the Saudis have done well, there's no way they will be close to winning the World Cup. If they played Italy tomorrow they'd be beaten. That's the point - I'd love to see a World Cup with the 32 strongest nations, but that won't ever happen because probably 25 of them would be from Europe.

Exactly. Think of all the amazing world cup moments produced by the lesser teams. Cameroon and Roger Milla, Costa Rica holding Scotland, Ali Dia's amazing goal, etc etc

You're never going to have a World Cup involving the best 32 teams in the world.

and that, right there, is the problem with Fifa. Why should Saudi bloody Arabia get in to the world cup, and a powerhouse like Italy have to stay at home? It's bollocks, and football is shit, from the very top all the way down to the knob heads supposedly in charge at grass roots level.

I don't see the problem to be honest, Italy were given ample opportunity to qualify and didn't.

Saudi Arabia have the same right to be there, and it's evidently not that easy to qualify or else they'd have qualified for 2010 and 2014.

It's the World Cup and Europe are represented more than fairly, representing almost half of all the teams involved.
