They were clearly willing to pay him what he was worth. Wish we had.

It's not hindsight when you said it repeatedly at the time, either.

This thread isn't about that though, that was made quite clear :?
What we were willing to pay him?

I don't want them to go up automatically. If they're in the play offs then the shit won't go up. Unless they go up automatically.

Easily the second best side to visit St. Andrews this season.

They didn't play the prettiest football but as a complete team they were excellent.

- Organised
- Crisp and precise on the ball
- Niggly, dirty and downright vile off it
- Tactically they all knew what they had to do at all times.
- Took their chances well.

We were the better side until they scored and then they took advantage of our frailties to be comfortable for the rest of the tie, from that point on they were never really in danger of losing the game.

The second half was largely a procession for them, don't let our bad luck with hitting the post fool you.

It's a shame their support was so poor really, good numbers but pretty quiet compared to others and certainly not as good as we are at their place. Oh well, singing doesn't get you points.

If they don't do their usual choke they will be in the top two at the end of the season.

The main difference in personnel? Two good ball playing midfielders. Apparently everyone at the club except Greedy Rat Dein, Fatima Vetere and Young Roy Cropper can see we need one.

A final thought? Weimann is a fliping prick. He's not even any good.

Spot on this mate. The only thing I will add is they was also a very lucky team.
A very Rowett team with all the usual characteristics, including the luck . Fair play to them though, the reality is setting up this way and gettin the luck is what gets you out this division.

Spot on this. Still a few on here who think it’s better to try and play tippy tappy Barcelona with League one standard players as a way to get promoted though

It’s a bit sh*t posting a comment praising the opposition after we’ve just taken a bit of a beating, mainly to continue a pointless argument about our previous manager (sub text - to rub it in of course).

Yeah, Derby are a fantastic club with a great manager. Pity about their fans hey! Just think if we were them!

Hears the ghost of Jim Bowen saying ‘look what you could have had’ ah well.

Trying to avoid that really, Doug. We've all been emphatically proven right so it doesn't need going over again.

As a side I was impressed by how cynical they were as well, no prisoners.

The bonus is it keeps villa out of the top two, not that they were ever going to actually make it anyway.
Trying to avoid it :D

I agree they were organised etc but also as others have stated they were also very very lucky, if Grounds shot goes in off the post it would of been a different game. Also there opener was ridiculously flukey, they had the rub of the green today big time.

My post had nothing to do with their manager,it didnt mention him and I explicitly tried to steer the conversation away from him.

It was an objective appraisal of the opposition, I also praised wolves and I fliping hate them.

I've moved on from it,I can't help it if others still want to go on about it.

In addition, Bristol City and Brentford were also very good here this season. Their managers have nothing to do with us, same as Derby's.

Derby know how to win games, we know how to lose them.

Until the boardroom and Dein are sorted I'm not sure on the field will improve as much as we need.
