watch repair and service

Thongs

Can anyone recommend a watch repair and service shop in Brum? Decent watch so not looking for some eastern European to chuck a sub standard battery in it from a piss stinking cabin on a shitty Brum high street.

Thanks.

I'd suggest a place I know in the Jewellery Quarter but I guess it's too far north in the city for you to patronise, not to mention it has a pub called the Villa Rose Tavern...

There is a bloke at a stand, on the top floor of the Bull Ring in the mall, who wanted £30 there and then to fit a battery in a watch or £50 to send it away?!!

I declined his amazing deal of 6 months guarantee blah blah blah

Bloke in Kings Heath done it for £10 and apologised it was so Much :-).

heard a great story about a jeweler in Sutton who regularly used to say to people who came in with a nice watch, I am a registered service provider for that make of watch, charge them £100 and tell them to come back in couple of days, before they came back he would take back off watch blow the dust out squirt some oil in and close back up, he said one month he earned a grand doing it!
Hopefully he has already done Thongs, thats why he is on here pleading!

Is the correct answer. I got sick of paying £10 to have a watch battery changed. The final straw was when a youth in in a shop apologised for not being able to reset the watch to the correct time as the 'winder' wouldn't pull out. He looked a bit sheepish when I informed him it was a screw down crown!

Soon degenerated this thread.

Ernest Jones, Bull Ring (who will then send it off to their factory/manufacturer to be done properly)
