I just don’t buy it. Chelsea do have a financial system buying young players and selling for profit, but you’re talking an £8m purchase to sell at £10-12m, perhaps £20m if he does well. £30m is far too great a risk. If he turns into a mediocre prem player (he currently isn’t even at that level), then they couldn’t hope to recoup that £30m. Indeed, the only way they turn a profit on £30m is if he goes straight into the first team and becomes top class, which discounts any nonsense of him spending a year on loan at championship villa (by which time he’d return at 23). As someone else said, they only spent £15m on Barkley, a premium league player with England caps.

This is villa putting out sh!te to diminish the hit they’ll take on him. Last week he was going for £40m and already it’s dropped by 10 and still no one has actually made an offer. He’ll go for £15m tops, maybe with some add ons - especially when you consider they’ll want the money up front.

The kid is comfortable with the ball but his end product isn't great.

And to say his end product isn't great is a masterful understatement. It's absolutely crap.

If he starts to produce end product to go with the talent, he will be worth money. Alternatively he could land himself a contract where he gets paid by the dive and become a trillionaire.

Agree with this. It’s hard to be objective, but a £30m championship player should surely have the pedigree to inspire his side to scoring more than a solitary, measley goal in three play off games.
Sun saying £15m from Spurs:

Or the Brum mail, via “teamtalk” reporting £30m Chelsea.

So I’ll say £10m Everton.

And not helped his team to 0 points in his last 16 Premier League games.

You'd want the finished article for over 20m not potential. Vile rags spouting bullshit. They're totally skint Bruce is probably glad they sold off the pie stand

The League has confirmed they're talking to Vile

“The EFL is in dialogue with the Club and will offer any practical assistance, where appropriate.”

Most practical thing they can do is tell them they're a bunch of skint pricks, and as they can't guarantee they'll be able to complete next season, kick them out before the fixtures are released next week.

I wouldn't have thought he would fit into the Chelsea model though, he's a bit old.

Usually they have younger player - send them out several times on paid loans, and then release / sell them.

Maybe Hazard is leaving and they need someone to fill the "falling over any time anybody looks at them role"

Greasy is no where near the player hazard is . Hazard is poetry in motion balance skill rolled in to one ,greasy is just shit
15:55, Wed 13 Jun
that'll test their mettle, we'll see just how bad the financial situation is now.

I know, I was being facetious.

Grealish needs to stop the diving and start adding some end product.

Hazard is all you say but...despite his exquisite balance, he is a diver. He could do with packing that in as well.

Doubt he'll accept it just yet tbh- he'll probably hope for £20m.

I'd love to see Spurs, after the World cup, look elsewhere, get the likes of Maddison for £15m and withdraw the offer - leaving glamour teams like Cardiff and Huddersfield fighting it out for late on in the window with £7-8m bids which, by that time, Dr Tony will bite their hands off for.

Oh, and whoever the greasy one goes to, get relegated at the end of next season, so he's back in the EFL.

I'd be really surprised if Levy has gone straight in with 15 Million, doesn't seem right.

I'm gonna call bullshit on this one, at least on the fee.
@LeMod1875
17:16, Wed 13 Jun
Mail reported offer totalling 15m. So would think it was 15m in instalments
17:18, Wed 13 Jun
I still think he'll go to Stoke for £12 million.

He had one good season in the Championship and he's young. Anything over 15 would be absurd.

Villa fans are trying to add £15 million to his actual worth because he's a boyhood villa fan and looks like a rare Pokemon.
17:24, Wed 13 Jun
in today's market 30 wouldn't be totally absurd if they weren't completely skint and struggling to pay the bills.
17:40, Wed 13 Jun
Well that’s the most reliable source to report a bid yet. He’ll not go for more than £20m. I’ll bet they’ll reject this one, then dick around thinking Chelsea will come in with £30m, see the weeks pass and realise no one is interested in signing their fringe players and two weeks before the window shuts, they’ll sell him for £10m.

Also, all this rubbish the vile fans talk about Grealish loving the club - so much so that he wouldn’t sign a contract extension last season. Lol.
17:47, Wed 13 Jun
Exactly even after all his pratting around he still never signed an extension :D Loves the club though does Jack

I think it's legit.

There was always gonna be a bid to test the water, to see if Villa would take "less money" up-front. Surprised that it's Tottenham as they tend to utilise their youth, especially as Winks plays a similar role and is seemingly on the cusp of his big breakthrough. But it'll probably be Levy saying "This will be our only offer this summer. If you don't accept then you may not get a better deal."

Villa will refuse of course, as everybody over there thinks he's worth 40mil apparently 8-)
18:33, Wed 13 Jun
Hardly reliable based on their recent claims IMO

Winks plays deeper than Grealish.

I do actually think he’d be a decent fit for Spurs as a squad player and an option off the bench

People at villa trying to start a bidding war.

If there is a bidding war it will be towards the end of the transfer window.
