Jokanovic apparently

Imagine he'd be a popular appointment at Forest. Think it was 23 games unbeaten at Fulham last year, until they met the mighty Blues and Monkmania.

‘Monkamania’ I can see it now blue hulkamania style t-shirts with ”Monkamania” plastered all over the front!

Always had a soft spot for Forest due to the Clough days - thought his team's football was good and for the European success they brought the country. Their fans know how to support - been to a few games at the City ground and they always travel in numbers. Much rather have them being successful than clubs like Fulham, Crystal Palace and Watford - never travel in numbers and nearly always poor support at home in terms of passion and volume especially when not doing well.
As regards new manager - hands off Gary Monk!!!!

Apparently Martin O'Neill has got the job
11:30, Mon 14 Jan
Surprised at that.

Be interesting to see if he takes Mr. Keane with him
11:46, Mon 14 Jan
That'll be the away end getting shifted like he did at Villa and Sunderland.

I'm surprised that you're surprised.

Martin O'Neil and John Robertson dream team?

Forest fans can sing even more about how they are "Champions of Europe".

You should never go back, but people get blinded by sentiment. Hope he fecks up because they have spent big

Forest are villa-lite Historian wise. They keep falling for it.

They appointed Pearce and it was a disaster.

As you say - sentiment and emotion blinds people.

Had they appointed O'Neil years ago it might have been great, now it will probably be rubbish.

Nigel Clough had the right idea, he was offered the job and refused because he knew how it would end up and he knew he wasn't his dad.

His management of the Ireland football team was pretty dire. For a bloke who played under Clough, he hardly sets up teams to play that way. Unless he is successful very quickly can’t see the fans tolerating his style of play.
12:25, Mon 14 Jan
Absolutely that.
Bruce is cited as playing four football now and labelled a dinosaur. I’d say O’Neill is worse, on a par with Ecl.
Can’t see why they’d appoint him after the type of players they invested in

Can only see this ending in disaster. A 66 year dinosaur who is very arrogant, so he’s unlikely to change his ways, and he will eventually clash with the owner.
Mind you, he’ll then walk away with a few million, so you can see why he’s gone for it.
