Ah yes because we have another striker on the bench who’s comparable to Adams.

I dont get some blues fans on here saying hes no good and blah blah he was pretty sensational yesterday, that through ball to Che😍such a better player in the middle behind the strikers we look much better too if a little dodgy at the back

I don’t think many on here simply don’t rate him. I think any contention is more about Jots’s consistency and shooting ability. When he’s hot, he’s really hot. I think he and Juke have more assists between them than any other pairing in the Championship. But there have been significant periods when he’s been off-colour, particularly when he didn’t like playing under Worzel, and then when he had the groin problem.

In the main, he’s been outstanding this season, and shown his record fee was money well spent. I think the Jota/Juke/Chele combo is arguably the best in the division. We should really be in the top six on the basis of that.

The thing I'm most looking forward to tomorrow is getting to the ground and asking that miserable old fanny behind me if he watched the highlights. He effing hates Jota and it will pain him to see he got three assits. In fact, I might ask him if his name is Des...

it's not me Chris, I'm the eternal optimist at the ground (equally annoying I know) I've been totally underwealmed with Jota after we signed him (certain that villa miss didnt help) but he has been on fire last two games!
Long may it continue!

I admit I was infuriated with Jota when he came as I knew what he promised(or what he could be) and didn't produce for a while, I would argue he has been playing well for a lot longer than 2 games but agree he has been on fire in this new role he has, again it has to go down to the manager and coaching staff.
Goodbye says it all.

Two assists wasn't it?

Must get an assist for the shot off the post? I'm giving it to him anyway.

Jota was utterly beautiful at QPR.

Obviously more so in the first half - because the second half he spent quite a lot of the time watching the ball get launched over his head towards Matt Smith.

But honestly, anybody who can't enjoy watching a bloke with the skill and imagination Jota showed on Saturday needs to give up on football.

The change in role the last couple of games has totally changed him, runs the show.

sky sports dont include Jota in thier top fifty Championship platyers table, Che, Morrison & Juke are all (deservedly) in it, so its more consistancy required from him that we all require!

There were a few times last season when he played central when we were chasing the game and he was absolutely immense, albeit from a deeper position.

One that stood out was Burton at home, he grabbed that game and carried the team.

Excited to see him tomorrow

Odd isn’t, when we play attacking football he looks good.

Looks like you might be disappointed . . . word on the streets is we're reverting to 4-4-2, so Jota is vying with Mahoney for a place on the wing.

This, said it a few times during games when he came narrower he looked twice the player. Not quite sure this formation at the moment is the best defensively but Jota as a number ten must be something we look to implement next season.

Maybe a 4-2-3-1?

For a time in the second half at QPR, we switched to 4-3-2-1, with Mrabti and Jota operating behind a striker.

Lots of possibilities with the squad as it now stands, including switching formations without changing personnel during the course of the game.

4231 is dead now.

I think the 4312 works perfectly for the players we've got.

You basically play an anchor at the bottom who doesn't support attacks and the other two see-saw to make runs from deep depending on the attacking circumstances.

The 1 in the hole virtually has a free role which suits Jota. It'd suit Bryan Hughes and David Dunn perfectly in the past too.

In this division to play it you need two robust centre forwards that can hold the ball up to let the 1 make an overlap and also a forward who can make the run in behind- see our 2nd on Saturday.

Reckon he'd have cost more than 6m if he could do that every week though. Never did it all the time at Brentford. Obviously hope he can it's great to see a Blues team creating chances like the 4th goal Saturday.

This, this and this thricely.
In fairness to DES and other gerrintoem merchants, Jota can blow hot and cold, often though due to having a total mentalist of a manager (SC) or playing with an injury, however, players like Jota don't turn up at Blues too often and I certainly appreciate him.

He's been one of our most consistent players this season
