I think GM needs to refresh our home tactics and vary them, making us harder to predict.

You going to give him some new players to do that with? Because these are knackered and generally bang average and have been overachieving most of the season.

Well, we have tried to attack and even win games from drawing, which is a change from the last few years.

When fit, we've been half decent to watch (crowds are up), we've had an energy and have put in some very good performances, both home and especially away.

We don't tend to play one up front against shit teams at home, or deliberately sit back allowing the opposition to wander into our half when they feel like it.

Our manager appears to like the club and isn't showing his pants to anyone who walks by.

All this under a transfer embargo and a squad with no depth whatsoever.

This current run was predicted by anyone with half a brain given the squad we have and the way we have to play based on the ability in that squad.

So yeah, I'd go with a "good" overall as it stands right now. If we get 12 points deducted and are dragged into a relegation battle, it could change the season into a terrible one but that won't effect how I rate the manager, as none of that is his fault.

add to that we've seen the emergence of one of the brightest strikers at the club for years.

A players we should sell for a good price.

Who have you in mind, Adams aside?

Sorry 'A player'

In that case, I agree.

"had a really good season"

Really?

midtable

never been in the top 6

lost home and away to Villa

out of both cup competitions in the first round

What's been "really good" about it?

Others have spoken for me, so I'm not repeating what they have said, but if you don't think this season has been really good (up to our recent dip) then I'm wasting yours and my time, as your expectations of what we could achieve this season clearly don't align with mine.
I know if nothing else I've actually enjoyed watching this side play and the way the manager, players and support have been so together.

It's always easy to use these as excuses.

Regardless of the position, I don't expect to lose or draw at home to the likes of Bolton, Millwall, Ipswich and Hull but if you press me, I was hoping for top 8 with our squad.
12:52, Thu 14 Mar
Yes, it's an easy way out.
12:54, Thu 14 Mar
You must be permanently disappointed.

You don't know Blues very well then, or the Championship.Even those relegated from the Premier lose to such teams.

I’m totally amazed by the constant assertion that the players are knackered or exhausted.
These are professional athletes who have specialist trainers to ensure that they are at the peak of their fitness with a team of medics whose job it is to treat any injuries.
Most teams in the EFL get by on the players available to them. If ours are “knackered” it means that the trainers aren’t doing their job or, more likely, that the players are not putting in a full shift on the pitch.

Go and run 46 marathons over 9 months, one a week and if you came back on week 36 and said you felt as fresh and fit as week 1 I'd say you were a robot 👍
13:44, Thu 14 Mar
I hate this idea that athletes shouldn’t be tired, it’s absolute BS.

Do you actually watch the way we play? Its predicated on energy and springing forward. We don't let the ball do a massive amount of work as the players aren't technically gifted. Add in the size of our squad, and the amount of games a lot of them have played, and they would have to be superhuman not to start flagging at this time.

Next time anyone says "Blues fans are different, they stick with their team, no moaners or people who think we have a right to anything", I'm going to bookmark this board today and show it them, as it generally shows we are as full of shit as any set of fans on the planet.
