I used to love " It,s a long way to New Street Station " Although it might need to be upgraded soon to " Curzon Station "

i was only starting singing this the other day to a lad at work.
And eff me i couldn't remember the words and still can't remember.
Can you put the whole words up for me please ?

You put your football shirt on, your football shorts on, your football socks, your football boots and then you're number, you do the Tony Coton and you turn around, that what it's all about. OOOOOOH THE TONY COTON....

Blimey, that's a good old blast from the past - along with 'Jolly Good Company', and 'Goodbye-ee'

Sung as a beautiful counterpoint to that glorious refrain "You're going home in a fecking ambulance", or the equally poignant "You'll never walk again".

As a youngster, the last line of that always worried me.

Having discovered the first part, always thought the punishment a bit harsh

Yes,a catchy little ditty that was.
However would probably have to be "Boot Persons" in these more enlightened days we live in now.

Tbf I've heard loads singing that, and with the other words in the chant it makes more sense.
I’ve also heard Blue boys, from Brum sang
Fat Buddha - 'Rab C Nesbitt. He's a contrary fecker, but invariably right. He has his finger on the motherfecking pulse.'
