On Friday afternoon Matt Slater of the Athletic reported that Jeremy Dale was the front man for a consortium holding talks with Birmingham City for what was described as an investment deal.

Spot on that, mate. Same issues are still there as always. Still think we have a few more rungs to fall before we get these vermin out. But fingers crossed
As always a thoughtful piece, thanks.
I remain highly sceptical but hope that this is truly the beginning of the end. Chances that it really is are less than 25% in my view.
The protests should continue and only cease when some sort of deal IS done.
Thanks Dan, just FYI if you click on the links in your article for Jeremy and Keith it comes up with Paul Richardsons name a lot, hopefully not an omen š

Nah it means Iāve not properly purged those pages which I copy pasted from a template. They need work anyway so that was something for tomorrow. Today Iām taking a day off from it.
Forgive my ignorance, but why would the club be deducted points or even fined for the wang situation? (Appreciate your not the EFL)
It's not like being owned by a series of shell organisations was a footballing related matter or am I missing the point.
Surely the best thing to do would be to try and force a sale as the owners would be unfit?
Well summarised, Dan.
I agree that their approach fills me with more confidence than Maxco's sloppy attempts. But equally, doing this staggered deal just seems off; it gives the impression that BSH just aren't ready to give up the club. I can't be confident in a takeover until we see someone come in for 100% of the club from the off.
Iām not going to be a hypocriteā¦ā¦. If itās the same deal as was mooted with Maxco then I donāt think any sane business person should touch it,
The only teams who have escaped this league in the last 10 years have had parachute money or ( as in tge case of Wolves Bournemouth Forest) large backing and an excellent managerā¦..
To invest in the Championship you always have the spectre of FFP, and we are sailing close to it already. I canāt see too much scope in commercial deals other than rebranding St Andrewās that could make much difference but š¤·āāļø
The only other factor of course to help FFP is any Bellingham sell on fee, but Iām like 99.9% and donāt know what that actually is
They already sound a better prospect than Maxco, although as you say, they are still apparently going for a similar deal from the club so it does make you wonder if they won't be more of the same.
We'll just have to wait and see and I'm glad at least they aren't (yet) the self publicists Maxco were.
Cheers Dan.
Do you reckon theyāre going in with the same deal on the table as Maxco because at least they know that the current owners are open to it (rather than them not wanting to give up a controlling stake immediately)?
I don't think I read the word "billionaire" anywhere. Disappointing.

You are missing the point.
Because the allegation is Wang didnāt take the fit and proper person test.

I think theyāre going in with this deal because it remains the only one on offer. Why would they offer anything better if people are dumb enough to entertain this?
Not sure Iām reading it right but Iām not sure the two people involved are really dumb
Iām trying to be optimistic in the sense they really want the club and this is the only way of them getting in initially

So weāre the ones that suffer again then š”
