Seen a lot of videos on Tik Tok of the top derbies. Loads of Geordies saying the tyne and wear one is the biggest in England. Now I'm now I'm biased but in my opinion nothing comes close to blues villa. Numerous pitch invasions, fans slapping goal keepers and calling them a winker, grealish getting swung at. Stern in the 90th. The pitch invasion after the cup game. Tait wearing a sotv Tshirt in the windscreens. It's pure hatred. Not in including the whole of the UK because of Rangers celtic. I don't rate the Liverpool or Manchester derby and I think the north London one although decent is overhyped. Steel city one is maybe top 5. As much as I hate villa, I do love the derby and I would hate to be a club without one like Coventry are who then try and foster a false one. What's your top 3?

Blues villa
Portsmouth Southampton
West Ham Millwall

Get where you’re coming from, but I wouldn’t underestimate the Sheffield derby and I think the Black Country one is far more hostile than a lot of people think.

Worcester City. V. Hereford United

Back in the day. Sheer Hatred, Hereford fans getting in early to invade the “Cow Shed” before City turned up !

Tyne - Wear isn't even a true Derby, it's two separate cities relatively near to each other. That criteria would make Blues v Coventry just as big.

I mentioned the steel city one. It would be 4th on my list. Stoke and port vale is moody.

Cardiff Swansea is a good one but I did say England only. Suppose for these purposes it can be biggest derbies in the English league.

Cardiff v Swansea

When I was at Uni in Cardiff, I went on train to watch a Wales international at the Vetch and the Swansea fans were waiting at station for Cardiff train to come in! Crazy!

Well yeah. Two teams from the same city, now that's a true Derby, so:

Blues v villa
Man U v Man City
Sheffield Wed v Sheffield Utd

Mansfield v Chesterfield has had it's moments over the years

The Bristol derby also carries a lot of spice, Rovers fans still convinced the stand fire at Eastville was the work of their more arrogant and hated neighbours across the city.

Whenever that one gets played, it seems to kick off on and off the pitch.

West Ham-Millwall HAS to be in the top 3!!

I’m sorry to say that the neither the Manchester derby nor the Liverpool derby is in the top 3 because, due to a combination of the presence of Liverpool and Man Utd at the top of the league (long before Man City were taken over) and ‘glory hunters’, both Man Utd and Liverpool consider each other to be their biggest rival, as opposed to the other club in each respective city. Pathetic.

My top 3:

Blues-Villa
West-Ham Millwall
Cardiff-Swansea, Saints-Pompey, Newcastle-Sunderland are probably equal (even though none is technically a ‘derby’).

I agree the Man U/Liverpool thing is totally pathetic.
A plastic rivalry invented by plastic fans.

Baggies v Wolves is definitely a moody one. It's fair to say that there's no love lost between Baggies and vile either.

I went to WBA v Wolves 2nd leg play off & didn't think the hatred / rivalry was that bad but I realised that was because I was observing as a neutral. What I'm getting at is every team will see their local Derby as the fiercest.

I know that the Brizzle City v Rovers ( check it out on youtube)is always mad as was Chester v Wrexham but just less people involved due to the ground capacity & reduced allocations.

I slightly disagree, I think everyone would see their derby as the biggest, but would acknowledge that some are more fierce. Especially when comparing to abroad.

Which is why I wouldn’t see the manc, scouse or north London derbies anywhere near that list.
