Should be a good game on Saturday against a probable top 10 championship team.£15 to see the first team play before the proper season starts against Reading which will be sold out this week.

I actually fancy us. They've got a friendly Friday too, and they're in that transition where they've sold players but not brought in replacements yet

I know this sounds weird but I hope that the baggies really try and push us just to see how we cope. Can we play a fast passing game game with high intensity and how do we get on without the ball against championship level players.

If we win that is great but I am far more interested in how we play and if needed how does plan B get implemented.

Will be lots of subs second half as unlike last week only one game so the team that finishes will probably be nothing like the one that starts.

Should be a good test.

Also be interested to see how the new automated scanning system works as the following week is going to be a sell out and I don't normally leave the pub until 10 - 15 mins before KO. May arrive earlier for Reading game to see what the new fan zones are like and how fast the beer service is inside the ground now more serving points have been installed.
Turn left when you get on a plane.

I agree on giving us a good test, same as all friendlies really, but baggies should be the best opposition we come up against.

I don't think we'll make wholesale changes on 60 mins. I think it'll be played like it's a league game, we'll try get players through 90 mins but make normal subs and see what impact they can have, only bringing others off if they've got a knock or are out on their feet.

I'm going to the ground early for Reading, especially if they're showing the community shield game. See what the fan park is like now they've had time to design and implement a proper one.

Ticket sales not looking great at the moment. Let's hope we get a few more sold before the game.

Can’t see it being much of a crowd

A little bit surprising as this could be our only proper local derby this season.

it's a pre season friendly against a boring Albion side. they're no attraction. Rangers was different as it was for Trevor and a friendly that captured the imagination. I hope we stuff Albion. they have been arrogant for too long now. they've bleated about not having money when we were about to go under. I hope they get a reality check this season and struggle as those weirdos in sandwell won't be able to cope

The baggies will probably struggle this season. Their playing budget has been massively reduced and they are selling their best players. It will be tight on Saturday though.

Will be nice to win and put in a really strong performance setting us up for next week in front of a full house.

fingers crossed no injuries to Laird or May

Bit harsh on Rab, that

We beat them 3-1 last season, arguably we now have a stronger team, so one would expect us 1st half to batter them.
I know it doesn't really work like that but live in hope

Definitely doesn't work like that when I think we were fortuitous to win by that scoreline, and it was a harsh result on Albion. I do think we're stronger and they'll be weaker though. We should at least give them a good game if not win.

I think we'll play well. Shit teams who believe they're better than us (like Rangers and West Brom) play right into our hands.
