nope not a thread about kevin francis but a film review for the new "horror" film starring nicholas cage.
a decent watch, cage is excellent as the weirdo (you wouldnt know it was him under the make up). the story is pretty good although occult based so no real believability in it. interesting style to the filming in that for the most part there's only ever 1 or 2 people on screen at any given time. half decent ending.
3.5 novaks
For me it spent the first two thirds trying to be a Silence of the Lambs knockoff, and then just went full on 'cage weird' for that final third.
He's hardly in it, like a lot of his films recently.
If you want a weird film I watched Kind of Kindness at the weekend. Very odd, very good but maybe not for everyone.
I thought it was great. The opening scene in particular is brilliantly shot and really scary. I'd give it 4.5 Novaks.
Cage has been in some fantastic films recently.
Mandy was really good.
Watched it the weekend along with The Deliverance and The Trap, Enjoyed The Trap the most out of 3
Not horror but watched 2 really good movies in the last few days. Vengeance and Blackberry. 4 Novaks each.
I can't make up my mind about this one. First scene and first sighting of Longlegs was definitely creepy and Cage did a fantastic creepy voice throughout and then it bubbled under nicely for a while but then just went pretty silly towards the end. A case I find with quite a few horror films really. It was slightly spoiled by everytime I saw Longlegs I kept thinking of The Joker.
Talking about films we hadnโt seen in ages in the office today and was Alien
Will have to dust off the dvdโs and give those a go this weekend again

I think there is a new Alien coming out soon, or already out for all I know. I've not checked cinema listings for a long time.
If you want to watch a very crazy and quite original film, watch Strange Darling. I won't say what it is about, just enjoy the ride!
