Positives:

* Iwata looks a decent signing, neat and tidy and seems to have a good footballing brain

* Klarer and Leonard again impressed me

* it wasn’t a league game

Negatives:

* Khela cannot be played at LB again. He’s wasted there and at fault for the goal

* May has to be an out and out striker, him and Jay can’t play like that

* Paik penalty was very very poor

* Walsall are a league two side and we put an 11 out that would probably on paper should compete in the championship never mind league one

* The piss taking on social media

Any more?

To be fair, who else would you have played at left back? Cochrane needed a rest, Buchanans injured and Khela didn't play too badly there against a better side in Charlton.

He played badly against Charlton there too. He just happened to score a Worldie.

I’d rather have played a defender at LB, Bielik for example would probably have done better.

No reflection on the kid I like Khela but……dunno

Klarwr had his worst game despite the goal. Our passing was too slow and laboured. Didn’t create anywhere near enough. Again.
Walsall had a great shape though tbf to them

Thought The Tilton was very quiet tonight

You forgot poor set pieces and crosses as well, which has been a theme at every game I’ve seen this season. I know we technically scored off one tonight, but think that was more due to a scramble and luck, than a good set piece.

The manager has hung the kid out to dry again.

It destroys the blend of the team with him at left back everything is backwards and slow with him.

It’s still early days but four home games in they have all been somewhat underwhelming we have been too easy to defend against too much of our play is in areas that don’t hurt the opposition.

Get Pep Clotet in

I’m concerned Paik, Leonard and Iwata are too similar. All excellent players, but we don’t really have a differential in the middle of the park.

Negative

Possession based football with not much tempo or creativity for 75 minutes was tiring to watch

Positive

15 minutes of high intensity at the end looked like we should have won it at a canter

Final thought

Walsall wanted it more, l’d say other than the last 15 minutes we were only firing at 80%. The Wrexham game needs to be much more dynamic and intense from the off.

Number 10 and wide men the issue rather than central mid. May off Stansfield looks awful.

So what I'm hearing is "gerrit forward".

You say it doesn't hurt them but it does over time because they've been ran into the ground.

It's no coincidence that we've already scored 4 goals after the 80th minute after dominating possession.

The biggest miss tonight was Laird/ a more dynamic rb and bielik.

I'd sooner watch us play on the ball like tonight still trying to do the right things and be not quite on it, than how I've seen blues play for the majority of my lifetime even when it brings short bursts of success.

My worry before we signed Stansfield was how are we going to accommodate both him and may. Hopefully Davies can figure it out, but it doesn’t look promising based on tonight’s showing.
23:19, Tue 3 Sep
This is my concern … are we now in danger of just fitting JS in at all costs and having to change everything to accommodate him in that central forward position because that’s very much where Davies has said he sees him ..

Basically all the wide players struggled.

Alfie may as a free role was a choice... Seeing as he's our most lethal guy in the box. Seeing him drop into defence and run the right channel all day was interesting, but he had no end product. He was far more effective than wright though, and didn't stop running. Yokoyama looked okay in flashes and but mostly out his depth as well, a real Jekyll and Hyde game from him.

Khela isn't a left back.

Thought we actually looked better when juke on as we looked so one dimensional until then, which makes me think once dykes is back he may be starting in some kind of front 2 or 3
