π it's why I buy from Richer Sounds as well tbf. 6 year guarantee is nice piece of mind.
Yeah it's a good shop. People behind the desk actually are audiophile and tech enthusiasts.
I went to buy an ssd on offer at currys and they genuinely didn't know what product I came to collect. I had technician written on my work polo so they escorted me to the back room where I had to point out what a Samsung evo ssd was. True story.
There is this thing called the internet, great for finding online reviews on all sorts including TVs
We have a Sony Bravia, love it, bloody love it
Sony Bravias are shit. You need to get better at the internet.
That's quite funny. Sounds like they are the equivalent of the Halfords bicycle 'experts' π

Richer Sounds sorted a firmware issue I had on a receiver I brought from them while I waited ππΌ

Pretty much yeah. I reckon there's probably one person they all rely on who does know a bit e.g manager etc, but the rest are generally just till ops with "know how" written on their back.
Same as you say with Halfords. I've been in there a few times for some coolant fluids or whatever and the 18 year old behind the desk looks like he'd shit himself if you asked him to test your battery.
You'll not regret buying an LG, right across the whole range of specs and sizes.
Trust me !!
Involved in several hundred installations.
My out going TV is LG. 12 years old and done me proud.
Incoming is an LG OLED48C44LA (2024) OLED HDR 4K Ultra HD
Thanks everyone for your input.
Cracking choice Legal - the C4 was on my final list of two - it was only the ambilight that won it. The C4 is a great tv panel.
I need better sound than my old Samsung offers but canβt fit a soundbar in. Sony inscreen sound gets good reviews. Any experience?

I just bought the 55inch version of that 3 weeks ago. Took a while to get set up, especially with the Sonos soundbar and surrounds, but well worth it, really pleased with it. Picture quality isamazing

Never had a Sony I must admit, so can't help, the use of the screen as a sound device is intriguing though. The sound on the Philips we have actually isn't terrible - on the rear is a 2-1 speaker set up with a mini sub woofer built in - not terrible, but still not great. Depends on how much of an audiophile you are, but we've got this - it's small so perfect if you are tight on space. I was involved in Beta testing on the PC version (V2 Katana) and have always been a big fan of Creative. The 360 is a great option if you are short on space and don't want to spend a lot - it works really well for us - great sound quality.
