get the feeling that despite his goal he failed the Davies test in the Lincoln game
Hansson pushes full backs deep so Paik especially can use the space, and ply further up
He also gets the defensive side and doesn’t give the ball away when we need to retain it
DeckchairEl Hijo de QuarkioI'm a bit disappointed with this, but I go get it. He would very likely have been sent out on loan next season anyway, and CD just doesn't seem to trust him. Personally I feel he's been quite hard done by, whilst others have been given multiple chances to stake their claim. Good luck to him!
I appreciate what Davies wants is different to what Yokoyama produces but agree with this. Hansson has probably been the most disappointing signing from a fans perspective but I guess he holds the width and does his defensive work.
I think that's it. Yokoyama is so well liked because Hansson and to an extent Wright haven't done much, and Harris shunted out there doesn't either.
Yokoyama might not work that hard defensively (personally I don't think there's a lack of effort, but maybe understanding) but offensively he has been more productive in far fewer minutes.
Keshi has been the gold standard in both, but CD seems to prefer the defensive side first, offensive output second. Not my style, but I'm not a football manager.
I honestly don't get it mate. How many times have we as fans asked for him to come off the bench to change the game when losing or drawing? Think it does mean him and Donovan will be gone in the summer and I get that we will probably get good players in the summer but Yokoyama still is a decent player and can be better, same can be said about Donovan but Davies is not a fan
IanTNikola ZigicI don't get this really.
He's averaging better than a goal every four games from the wing and is a young prospect.
Weird.
That's not how Davies sees it though, presumably?
His stats going forward may be fine, but it's the other areas of his game where he just doesn't measure up.
Is there any way that you can access OPTA stats? I would love to see our players stats to see how they actually do stack up against each other. If you could ever get the training stats as well that would be great, and would probably help to settle a lot of fan arguments.
Well, I'm choosing to believe he's gone there to develop and we'll get a better player back next season, anyone tries to tell me different on here, I'll stick my fingers in my ears and go 'la-La-la-la'.

The new Genkie reacts enthusiastically to his transfer: "I am very happy with this opportunity at Jong Genk. The club is known for developing young talent and I can't wait to further hone my skills here. It is a big step in my career and I will give everything for the team."

Lol. If he gets into their first team it could be good for his development. If he's playing in their youth team, I don't see how he will develop much. He was always going to be sent out on loan next season anyway, assuming we go up. If CD doesn't trust him in L1, there's no way he's getting game time in the Championship.

We don’t lose or draw many games so very rarely.
I know but be nice to have the different options when we are level or 1-0 down during the game
I’m sure Davies is fine knowing we’ve barely lost any games or drawn for that matter

What did you expect him to say 'I'm effin gutted bab san, Genk is a shithole, I wanna go home'?
I quite liked Yokoyama but I guess we have Anderson, Wright, Hansson and even Dowell as a push for the left side role.
TBF we could have Warwick Davies as 3rd/4th choice out there and we'd be fine, we're pissing this league.

"Quite liked" sums it for me too... and a player that gets people off their seats will always excite, but I'm not sure he's all that either.
In an ideal world you'd be wanting him to come on for the last 15 minutes, but the reality is we're more likely to need subs that close down games in the dying minutes than open them up.
I'm sad to see him go as he was exciting to watch and had infectious excitement but I'd guess there are a lot of considerations we don't get to see - is his style of attacking at the expensive of the overall team attack? Not just can he develop but can he do it at the right pace to be useful for where the team is expected to be?
