tiltonbillyWe get a lot but dont score from them -same with crosses -loads wasted . We need a big mobile striker for next year . Not a moan because some of our play in and around the box is a joy ,however there is this part of our game that IMO we are not able at present to captalise on .We should be scoring more from setpieces and crosses
Do we have a dedicated 'set-piece coach'???
I'm sure I read somewhere, that it's currently part of Tom Huddleston's job
I'd encourage our players to put the ball out for goal kicks more.
That way we get fewer corners and our lack of scoring from them becomes less of an issue.
We can deal with people moaning we don't get enough corners when that becomes an issue.
It's the same with every team really.
Centre halves will win nearly every header when defending a corner but hardly win a header in the other box. Really strange.
Maybe it's a mindset thing, hugely important to put your body on the line in your own area but the same effort not really required when attacking a corner at the other end.
theAtlasI agree with this, more than one way to skin a cat. Good we’re showing a bit of invention. Leonard was on for a short one from the right hand side as soon as he came off the bench if he’d have just carried on walking to the edge of the box, he had acres of space. I was surprised Stevenage only sent one out every time try and stop us going short.
'just get it in the bleeding box, Blues'
Ryan Allsop should take every corner.
Sorted !!
We did. Nearly slotted it straight in, it blocked until May set Paik up.
As someone said we had a decent routine for a few weeks ago when Laird scores in the first few minutes v Newcastle.
If we are swinging a standard corner in we are not a threat at all.

Don’t think so
I think this is Jonathan Grounds isn't it? He's certainly up and out on the touchline every time there's a set piece.
