Don’t really understand the Placepot but amongst my selections I paid for 96 lines.
Amongst my selections I had 3 Winners and 4 placed but returned nothing 🤣🤣
Seems harsh …

You need one to place each race to win a share, your share is based on how many winning units you have, £1 = 1 Unit

I'm guessing you did loads of selections, perhaps at 10p a line? (£9.60 total stake), but didn't get one in each race, so didn't have a winning line. The horse winning means nothing, it's just about placing, it's not the extra places you see advertised on bookies sites either, it's standard tote places.

Or if you did have a winning line, you might have hardly anything because of the low stake per line, you might have only had 0.1 of a Unit or something, which would pay £8

I do £1 a line (each £1 is 1 unit), and usually stick to around 8-16 lines, only on the big festivals where the pot is huge, won £3k a few years back, though often miss out by one, it's happened every day so far this this festival!

Where do I actually do this place pot? I can't see it on Bet 365.

Disclaimer- I bet about 3 times a year, if that.

For the last 6 years we have gone to Spain on the slosh for 5 days Wednesday to Sunday. It's beyond superb £2.50 a drink no hassle.
I used to go to 3 or 4 days of the festival now I go to Spain and get sloshed. Its a 1/4 of the price of attending the festival.

What Rab said, it’ll probs be showing from around 9am, it’s a cheap way to (hopefully) have interest in each race

Yep. Just don’t expect a big win. With 10p perms you can win but get less back than you put on. But… as you found out there are some huge wins. Key to a big payout is the favourites in the betting not getting placed. And remember bookies extra place races don’t count for placepot purposes.
1-4 runners has to finish 1st.
5-7 runners. 1st 2 count
8 runners plus in non handicaps, 1st 3 count.
16 plus runners in handicaps, 1st 4 count
