the rules limit the amount you are allowed to lose
if our revenue is one of the highest in the league then our losses will be much smaller too, which gives us headroom (as Wagner mentioned on sunday) to spend big
ClaptonAre we going to do shit or bust like Villa did to get promoted?
I believe Wolves did the same. Interesting if that’s the short term strategy.
So did Derby and Bolton.
Alfie Chang isn't going to play for blues again. Harsh but I think we need to expect ruthless from the management

George Hall?
I expect them both to go .
Without injuries they might have done ok for us, but they both need to gain experience and both have terrible injury records.
Blues want players who are ready to play first team football in a competitive Championship side and I can't see how Hall and Chang can offer that any time soon, if at all.
Thank you, wow I can’t believe this is happening.
ClaptonNo I’ve listened but everyone keeps mentioning adhering to rules and therefore I wonder how we get away with spending £20m again in the next window.
To go right back to the start of the thread-
"I’ll say the following. Without having had the tail wind of the documentary series distributed by Amazon to over 200 countries we would have already been on a path to have the same level of revenue as parachute clubs next year in the Championship which is something that has never happened before."
Or, to summarise, we're loaded.
I wouldn't sell Laird or Klarer for £5m unless we absolutely have to - i.e. a release clause..
We would need to replace them and to buy an upgrade would most likely cost more than £5m. While we'd get a little profit it wouldn't leave the club in a better place.
We'll see though. It's surprising how many players go from regular to unwanted or from unwanted to regular very quickly.
I would let them all go if we're replacing them with better players. The days of sentimentally are behind us.
Getting in fringe players, letting them play well in our system and then selling them on fit a profit is a great business model.
TandyOr the pace, or the decision making ability, or the delivery.
I like him a lot, but he is not a PL player.
He hasn’t got the pace to be a PL player? I’d say he’s one of our players who definitely does. As someone said it’s his defensive play on which the jury is out - it just isn’t the case that the whole of the Premier league is full of full backs and have the ability to deliver the ball like Alexander Arnold. There was a discussion about which of our players might make it it in the top league and he was one of the few mentioned as a possibility. I think if he stays fit, that stands.
Laird has always had the potential to be a top top player. We're starting to see it this season.
He also seems like a fantastic person to have in the squad. I wouldn't sell him for less than £10m
One thing I'd like to see klarer improve on next season is his ability to cause problems in offensive role on corners. He seems to foul alot or mis hits the ball for his size I expect better. But defensively perfect.

He’s the only one we have with the pace to play in the EPL.
Agree, add Davies to this, they seem more focused on pushing and shoving than trying to get on the end of the cross.
