Calling us Small Heath etc.,
Newton Heath
Small Heath.
They think it’s an insult and yet we embrace it and the clubs main forum carries our heritage as its title.
Are they a bit troubled by being Aston.
TBF, it is shit.
Trying to give some sort of justification to their class treachery.
I think small heath alliance is a great club name
It's jealousy that we carry the city's name, whilst they do not.
Had this argument the other day with a villa fan. No sense came of it. One of the arguments put forward was that they've never needed to changed their name whilst we have 3 times. I pointed out they change their badge every other season!.
I honestly don't think they're jealous of us being called Birmingham. In fact I think most of them are happy to distance themselves from the city. The club does little to tie itself in to it, and the fans literally sing about shitting on it (yes I know that's aimed at us)
It’s the small bit they are emphasizing I reckon. It gives them some sort of cock waving superiority.
I like to call them just Aston in return and it definitely riles them as they get a hard on if we call em Veela.

I agree!
It's simple really, they are absolutely obsessed with the idea of being a 'Big' Club in the eyes of the nation, despite the fact that actual 'Big' Clubs don't need to use that term at all (nobody ever questions the size of Arsenal, Liverpool or Man Utd).
So they Love the fact our club used to have the word 'Small' in the name, but Blues fans generally don't care what other fans think about us and they can't understand why.
They are easily the most insecure fanbase in English Football, imagine how hollow it must feel to cling to Trophies Won when there were only 10 Professional Clubs, League wins before Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs were allowed to compete in the League, Before The FA cup was the shape we know it and Wembley was still farmland.
For a clear context of how hollow it must feel for them, as a child of the 80's, Englands 1966 World Cup Win means nothing to me, literally nothing, I didn't live through it, have no memories of the tournament and gain no pleasure from the result when England fail to win now. Now imagine that Win was before Queen Victoria Died.

I said the other day, their European cup win was closer to the start of WW2 than today.
On a different note took a look on h&v earlier and there mega thread about us....they think Mayor lives in the woods (lol) but read a bit more onwards and I really can't stand them tossers especially that Woodhall bloke who's still not getting it is he...

This is it, in my opinion too. They like calling us "Small", because they think it means they're "big". My preferred term for them is "Witton Town", but sometimes recently I've been calling them "Lichfield" or "Erdington".
When they say the City is theirs, I always think of Lichfield.
