Apart from all the other sides that wear it, agreed 😳
No not in blue and white.

Like it or not it’s our most used kit and a massive part of our history.
To me it carries our identity like the stripes of Newcastle or the hoops of Celtic.

It's so most used that it has been our home kit in only 9 of the 150 years of our existence...

Exactly.
What other kit has been duplicated so much as the penguin?.

A blue one

Newcastle and Celtic have their stripes or hoops every season without fail.

We've had the penguin 9 seasons out of 150. We haven't had it more because it's shit

Like it or not the penguin shirt is iconic and the only shirt I'd buy. If/when we get in to the premier league it would sell bucket loads as it's instantly recognisable. A fantastic opportunity for Blues to increase the "Brand image" not just here but world wide. Very few of our previous shirts are memorable at all and the ones that are only by us fans. Marketing and Brand is huge now and we should be doing everything possible to solidify it. IMO that's the penguin and the world and ball logo. Both of which are a marketing teams dream.

Absolutely.

We need football fans from across the world to look at the shirt and say that’s Birmingham City’s shirt. It would make our brand instantly recognisable as it’s such a unique design.

the penguin shirt is iconic

Not if you're under 50 and not a Blues fan.

The 1971-75 penguin shirt only looked good because it had long sleeves and therefore achieved a great balance of blue and white. The more recent attempts to replicate it from the 1990s onwards just didn't achieve that same look because they had short sleeves and appeared to have too much white. Replica shirts aren't made with long sleeves these days as far as I'm aware, so any attempt at a modern day penguin top is doomed to failure.

There's multiple teams that use a blue and white penguin design, they're shown not too many comments above. Carlisle, WBA, PSG all use them.

West Broms is shit even with the reversed scheme. PSG's is a darker shade of blue that looks decent with the white contrast. Carlisle's isn't a million miles away from a Blues penguin, and it's shit

This - its iconic for a certain element of our fan base because we won promotion and had that forward line. We nicked the idea off Ajax and only had it for 5 seasons. I started watching us when we had a penguin kit but the 78 adidas one was miles better.

Like the stadium, lets just have a new, present and future looking kit to celebrate instead of rolling out a shirt that like Squatnose says, doesn't work short sleeved as there is more white than blue!

..yeah this, the original penguin was iconic, all the rehashes of it have been shite, let's not go there again 😤

You keep saying it’s shit but that’s just your opinion.
The PSG kit does have the same design and it’s worth bearing in mind they stick with variations of it purely because that’s they’re brand and it’s recognised worldwide.

We just need the shirt to look fashionable enough to appeal to the masses so people who aren't fans of the club buy it

Our badge alone is enough to make any shirt we have recognisable, we don't need to limit ourselves to the outdated penguin design

If they can make it look good then I'm happy for them to go for it - I'd like a good looking kit, and if it reflects historical kits then all the better.
