I can't recall a statement from the club saying 98% renewed! That would be just over 17900 out of 18300!

Decent numbers.

Nor me. Great if true.

Of course some of that 18,300 from last year will have been those that bought half season tickets?

Do we know how many were bought this time last year?
Blue since 67 - Will be there at the end of the road, whenever that may be!
We didn't do half season tickets last year.

The half season tickets we didn’t sell?

Time for a temporary stand in the corner

I thought they were going to get rid of the big tele and put one in at some point? Not that you'd get many in that corner

Ah my mistake, I thought I’d seen something! I haven’t been in a position to buy season tickets in the recent past and so wasn’t really paying attention!

The women’s team did offer half season tickets though.

I’ll go to the back of the class and await the shower of tomatoes!

The powers that be now have to decide on a cut-off point. Do they want 20,000 season ticket holders, leaving roughly five to six thousand available for general admission? Or do they want to guarantee bums on seats and stretch to 22,000 season ticket holders or maybe even more?

The aim, after all, is to ensure St Andrew’s is at capacity for every game in the Championship next season and the more season ticket holders, the more likely that is to happen.

wonder how KH see this? the consensus on here from reading a few comments seems to be that they will max it out at 20k and be keen to charge high match by match ticket prices to increase the revenue stream from ticketing. you cant listen to Wagner speak for more than a few mins before he ties everything back to revenue

but something was said at one of the open house events about lessons learnt and their main one has been previously not respecting/recognising the importance of momentum in football

this is a great time to capitalise on fans desperate to sign up to season tickets, we have a waiting list. wonder if they will want to get as many blues fans as possible committing to the club with a season ticket and set a record for most ever sold? get people on the bus and work towards out growing st.andrews

its easier to retain season ticket holders than attract new ones

Fine balancing act though init. As much as you want guaranteed arses in chairs, you also don't want to make going down Blues a closed shop. Once the new ground opens we want those occasional attendees to be buying season tickets aswell.

Would take someone smarter than me to make the decision.

perhaps the answer would be to sell limited tickets , ie. you buy a block of say 5 tickets to the people on the waiting list then lots more could be accommodated while appearing to be fair and giving those on the waiting list something at least .

just a quick thought , i await being shot down

good point, at 22k st holders getting a couple of tickets or 3/4 together for a family will be a scramble

but thats not going to be much different whatever they do tbf

Thing is, even though we did well last season there was a small number of games where GMU was closed and a few more where it was partly open. Whilst there are many reasons that combine as to why these seats remain empty, I don't think there is sufficient demand to go to the expense of temporary seating.

If we are at the top end of the Championship we will be totally sold out every week. Most clubs bring 1500-2k away fans too which reduces # of Blues.

This is an excellent idea. One third season tickets will give you 7 or 8 games. Which in my opinion would reduce the number of games the STHs would miss. If you have access to all 23 home games it is way too tempting to "just skip one" look at the "sell-outs" last year where there were loads of empty seats. Plus it keeps a larger number of fans hooked.

No chance it'll happen though.
