I know for a fact that he had absolutely no clue that Bassini was the buyer when he published all of the initial articles, he trusted Keith Harris explicitly and was made to look an idiot.
He was initially mortified when he was eventually told that the man behind the Harris bid was Bassini. The changed tact and starting framing it as a necessary evil to rid the club of BSHL and that Sullivan was involved.
But yeah, it was all very naive looking back and doesn't scream good journalism.. to put it politely. Thank God Knighthead came along.
