Sorry is this Tom Fellows you’re talking about?
22:14, Sat 21 Jun
Thought he was on about Tommy Doyle but i could be wrong.
22:14, Sat 21 Jun
Am I missing sumat? Is Doyle having a medical?
22:16, Sat 21 Jun
We can't trust Blueysoa until Fellows signs.
22:16, Sat 21 Jun
He’s on about Kyogo.
22:19, Sat 21 Jun
Sorry I was being unnecessarily ironic. The poster was talking about Kyogo. I think he possibly pulls stuff out of his hat after he suggested Tom Fellows was on his way a couple of days back.

Yeah I reckon Kyogo was a guess that’s come to fruition. I am a cynical bastard though

Unfortunately in my experience it doesn’t improve the older you get.

I'm not saying that Everton aren't big.

But at what point do high crowds and a few trophies won half a life time ago continue to carry sides.

Fans that bang on about being a "big club" are really saying "currently unsuccessful club that they are insecure about".

Liverpool used to go on about being a big club but now they win things they dont need to.

Man united have gone the other way, never had to say they are a big club as their performances already let you know that. Now that they have dropped off it's all "we are the biggest club in England".

Because they’ve got every right to say it because it’s arguably true in England I’d say they are joint top with Liverpool and you can make a case for either team.

Celtic are not insecure but they also are absolutely massive and I think it’s odd to think otherwise.

Celtic and Rangers are massive clubs. Bigger than 9-10 of the premier league clubs from this season.

That being said they don’t understand the size of some English clubs in the second tier and how hard they would push them in the SPL.

Massive???? In Scotland yes. And that's where it ends

I think it’s an error to say that they aren’t massive clubs on the basis that every other team in their league is comparatively small. Historically, both would have been competitive in the Premier League, and I believe that Celtic still would be.

Their worldwide fan base is probably in the top dozen or so most supported clubs.

Their overseas fan bases are made up almost entirely by expatriate Scots.

They most certainly do not have the global pull of Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Barcelona, inter Milan etc;

Celtic aren't even in the top 100 globally for social media following, which is an imperfect but good proxy for worldwide support

But they are well in the top 20 worldwide for actual fans in their stadium. The only reason they're down on that list is because a few of the top prem side have expanded their stadiums. Arsenal, Spurs, West ham and Liverpool come to mind. They have 54,000 season ticket holders and need to expand Celtic park because at 60,000 it's to small. You have to pay to be on the season ticket waiting list and there are 17,000 on that list. They are a massive club and if they had the capacity would be 3rd or 4th on that worldwide list.

To think they're not a massive club really is a bit daft.

17th. Just in.

You could make similar arguments about other clubs who fill their ground.

An absolutely massive club should have top players desperate to join them. They're recent history is of losing their best players to average Prem teams.
It is tough for them but their lack of financial clout has made them a well supported backwater team.

I’ve hijacked this thread enough.

Furuhashi is a great player and it would be a massive coup and statement is we manage to sign him. Huge. Much like getting a premier league striker to agree to join us in league 1 last season.

Dont see how you can be in the big club discussion and have 30 year old fans out there who have never seen that club (Everton) ever get close to winning a trophy of any kind

Their one FA Cup win in 95 stands alone for a generation just like Wigans or Crystal Palace's as something thats comes around every 50 years

They used to be a big club, they're not anymore

Is there really any legs to this Kyogo thing? Ive heard that PL clubs are interested and also that he wants to stay at Rennes . Seems a long thread for summat with very little substance --Anybody know any different ??
