He don't score many with his head does he ?
..... and for that reason I'm out !!
Joshing
..... he's dynamite šššš
If we get him all the DVB's I know will need ear plugs
LarssonfreekickThrillhouseWe like Alfie and would be happy for him to be a squad option in the Championship
But if enough talent is identified that he becomes superfluous, then thanks for the memories Alfred
I feel like none of the above is controversial
This might be controversial but the Stanno signing never quite sat right with me (as much as I love him) and I think weād have scored more if Alfie had started every week last year ahead of him
I also think (maybe controversially) that heās still the best out-and-out striker weāve got, and is one of those natural goalscorers that, with the right chances, will score at any level
Think it would be a massive mistake to let him go, so hard to find natural goalscorers like that
Closest weāve had since Kevin Phillips/ Marlon King
Heās not even close to Philips or Marlon.
I like Alfie but he canāt run with the ball, he struggles to pass the ball and heās too slow to see players runs.
Heās a decent finisher but I really donāt think he will be able to play in the championship.
I watched a load of Kyogo footage last night. I would say 2/3 of his goals look offside when watching for the first time, he plays right on the shoulder of the last defender.
I think I get the Fujimoto interest more now that Iāve seen those Kyogo goals. The footage of Fujimoto indicates that slide rule passes and good weight on them is his biggest strength. The two of them look very well aligned.
The other third of Furuhashiās goals were from cutbacks. Can see a few Laird assists to him this year.

He was top for assists last season for us.
Poorly worded from me, I didnāt necessarily mean in terms of his levels.
I guess I meant more what he brings: you can rely on him for a goal when you need one.
As an option off the bench, 10 mins to go, when weāre pushing towards the Tilton, I think heās exactly what you want to bring on, and weād be stupid to let him go.
Another one that gets double-up on in L1 but wonāt in the Championship as well.
More than deserves his chance.

Which merely supports the old adage regarding the value of statistics.
Why did no leading Championship club sign him up when he was younger?
A natural finisher in the Kevin Phillips mould would always be in demand at that level.
and weād be stupid to let him go.
Not if we buy better options.

Why did no club sign Vardy when he was younger? Leicester waited until he was 25...

And May is now 32.
Leicester were a top Championship side when Vardy went there, at the same age May was at Doncaster in League Two.
He did a good job for us last season but I'm afraid that I can't see him being the player to make a difference for us if we are to challenge at the upper levels of the Championship.

Which is great until you actually watched him play, extremely frustrating at times. The amount of assists he couldāve gotten if he was quick minded couldāve doubled that amount. He was a brilliant signing for league one, Iād love to be wrong but he will be found out in this league.

He probably does, but sadly not with us. Weāve given him just as much as heās given us and letās not forget that. If he went to a team that isnāt expecting a top 6 finish next season then Iām sure heād do okay.
If at any point weāre relying on May to start, which we wonāt, then we will drop points next season. We have to be brutal now.
A lot of this is just complete conjecture. Nobody knows how he will do at this level as it's his first time there. Natural goalscorers are just that. Generally doesn't matter what league they are in. Plenty of lower league players like Vardy and Austin etc have done ok even at Premier level
I hear where you are coming from and he might do it but 'plenty' is a stretch and the ones you mentioned were not in their thirties when they first stepped up.
