Legal_BluenosePull this one off and it’s a massive statement.
If this is what the club considers to be a statement signing then we're all going to have to adjust our expectations for next season.
You don’t think a premier league winger in his peak years coming to a newly promoted club is a statement signing. He will be one of the best in his position in the league if not the best.
Not sure what some of our fans are expecting.
He is levels above any other player we have in the attacking positions.
Apparently the fee is 5.5m with 25% sell on. I rate Gray but I do hope we are sensible with the wages, if this happens.
I think Jobe will be a proper Prem player. Which tbf is immense given how many set out to achieve it. I do think he’s a bit over hyped ATM, but think he’ll come through fine.
Thankfully we’ll be on a similar projection.
Will you get over to see us on the march next season?
'premier league player in his peak years'
he got zero g/a in the Saudi League last year
Surely you only know a player's peak years after they've retired? He might be in his physical peak now (I have no idea if he is or not) but his form doesn't suggest he's at his peak anything
A 29-year-old who's had 6 seasons being a main team player in the prem lol. What more do our fans want? This is a statement signing.

I look forward to seeing all the sides signing 28/29 year old players with 200 premier league appearances.
Ive never rated him that highly either when he was with us or went elsewhere after, he is a good player but Im not that high on him
ultimately he improves us, however would other options improve us more
there were lots of comments on here decrying a move for Nathan Redmond last season and very dismissive of the idea of going back and signing previous players, that was beneath us these days apparently
I wouldn't be heartbroken if this didnt come off
Redmond is 31 and hasn’t played more than 25 times in a season in 5 years.

Where has this fee come from? I can’t see that being true tbh
FWIW I wouldn’t really class it as a statement signing but I do think it could be a good one, presuming he’ll be on of maybe 4 wingers that we have in the squad, he gives us some explosive ball carrying that we badly lack.
Kyogo would be a statement, 6 months ago the prospect of him coming to us any time soon would have been laughed at by virtually every neutral.
Realistically probably not but will try for a couple early next year maybe.
Doesn’t really matter about Jobe as we will be Jude’s next club.

Yeah there’s absolutely no value in that deal whatsoever.
The only way this works for us is if it’s a loan, a free with a sell on and promotion bonus, or a proper cut price deal. So if it gets done, I’ll assume it’s one of them or a combination of them.

Would any prem clubs take him now ? Burnley as a squad player possibly.
If I was a fan of Ipswich Leicester Southampton I’d be underwhelmed, especially with the financial outlay .
I know CD isn’t about stats but I’d be flabbergasted if gray accumulates more than 4 goals and 4 assists next season .
Le ModI really hope you’re right with this. We’ve been linked with some very exciting players. The only way this works for us is if it’s a loan, a free with a sell on and promotion bonus, or a proper cut price deal. So if it gets done, I’ll assume it’s one of them or a combination of them.
For me Gray is definitely not one - if we were paying any kind of fee for him he’d rank just behind Craig Dawson as to how enthused I’d be.
He may turn up and prove me wrong, and certainly I have faith in our recruitment people, but unless this is structured with no/minimal fee then I really hope it doesn’t happen - even then I’m not that fussed
FFS! 2 years ago we were signing Oliver Burke, Alex Pritchard and Stiki Dembele as our wide players and now some fans are turning their knows up at one of the own who’s won the premier league, amassed 200 EPL appearances and about to turn 29.
Have we become the entitled or something?
