Yep š
Was saying in the pub last night I hope we don't see the lad in pre season for a while, he's played an incredible amount of football over the last year and a bit especially with his incredible work rate.
Let the lad lie on a beach for a few weeks.
PetebaldwinYeah I think he is. He gets caught on his heels a bit too much - a pass comes in and rather than anticipating it and making the run, he waits for the pass and is a yard behind where he should be. Thatās something that can be learned though. Heās got all the raw attributes.
Perhaps we could get a few of the beer bellied lads off SHA who knows so much to run a coaching session to see if they can make a player out of the lad.
TarquinGotta be honest and although Iād been out yesterday afternoon I wouldāve put all my money on him playing as a striker last night. He's scored close to 40 goals in 2 seasons, one of which for a relegated team.
He actually played inside right last night as Carsleu acknowledged the change to a 4 3 3.
Sheffield Utd last season had Kieffer Moore, Brewster, Brereton Diaz and Tom Cannon as number 9 options and played one up front.
The better the players around stanno the better finisher/player he is he will be fine with us as we get better
WorcesterbluesHeās unfortunately one of these players that needs everyone around him to play to his strengths to get the best out of him. I dare say he kind of needs his hand holding at times as he isnāt too great at holding the ball up
Honestly I have to say I am very, very confused by this post and could not disagree more.
Heās just gone into a team of some of the best youngsters in the world that looked pretty awful cohesively until he came into the team.
Correct me if Iām wrong but not only did we win all the game he started, but I believe we didnāt score in the last 2 games he was on the bench until he came on the pitch? Thatās not a player that needs players to play to his strengths, thatās a player that does want needs to be done for the to make the overall sum of parts much better. A large part of his success was in holding the ball up, especially in the final. So I think that is very unfair criticism.
Instinctively wise he does seem to have lost a bit I can accept that, but heās just played a year of football where apart from maybe 2/3 games teams have set up with 10 men behind the ball, therefore he has had no space to move which was his game, next season he will get that and I think that part of his game will return.
When we had him on loan in the championship the year before and he had one on ones, I was usually 90% certain he would score (the first time Iāve had that in a long time), I think next season he will do better than he did last year, do not worry.
He'll be a striker for his career and a good one. How many young strikers are there out there that are better than him? How many have scored the number of goals he's scored?
He's just finding his way and will mature in the next couple of seasons. He can hold the ball up (e.g England's second goal yesterday), he can finish, hes powerful and quick and will only get better.

I presume it was a mistake but I think Carsleu should definitely be his name from now on.

Youāre obviously referring to the chance last night. Canāt say Iāve seen that on a regular basis, in fact to counter that viewpoint look at his 2nd away at Barnsley season. Wrestled with the defender to anticipate where the corner was likely to end up.
But yeah I agree he has time on his side. He has too much talent not to be a very successful āfront playerā
I was watching the Barnsley 6-2 highlights yesterday and that shot outside the box that hit the post. There are only a handful of players and in L1 who could attempt that, and we had most of them.
Hell definitely continue to grow over the coming seasons. We shouldn't forget that Marco Silva had plans for him in some capacity in the Prem last summer.

Strongly disagree. How many times last season did he score from nothing. He even won it on the half way line, ran into the penalty area and blasted in the top corner.
Yeah if anything it's the other way round. The lad does the graft that makes those around him a lot better.
It's no coincidence that the under 21 performances improved massively when he was starting.
It's all about opinions and you've made a good case but TBH I don't agree.
For me, he's very obviously a modern number 9. His strengths are finishing, creating something out of nothing in the box and running from deeper at defenders with the ball on the counter. And - obviously - pressing.
Very much like Vardy. Or Forsell.
Our dilemmas is - is he so good at what he does that we build the team around him or are there more effective set ups for the Champ which mean he might play a more limited role.
