Jeff Lynne was briefly married to my wife's sister in the late 60's. A smashing bloke if a little hairy. I bought a mini off him for 12 quid and my collection of Perry Como LP's. I met him at an after concert party in the late 90's and he had no idea who I was.

Going tonight really looking forward to it. Trying to get tickets for Hyde Park as well. Good weekend in Brum just in the food thingy outside the council house.

Hope they've improved the NIA, last time I went was to see Editors and thought the venue was a bit sh*t compared with NEC.

A great night last night at Jeff Lynne’s ELO concert.

Jeff himself just had to stand in front of a microphone belting out the vocals as he had a broken hand following an incident in a London Taxi!

The band were totally brilliant and, tbh, were carrying him a great deal at times. I got the impression his mobility isn’t great these days and the lead guitarist was clearly helping him at the end.

I think Jeff has made the right decision to quit at this time and leave us with those wonderful memories!
