My lad made his home debut for Rushall Olympic v Blues U21s this afternoon in goal.

Played 85 minutes in a 2v0 win for Rushall.

He's saved two 1v1s. A close range header and made a double save from a free kick and the follow up.

Really proud of him as he's had 3 disappointments at Pro acadamies but has never given up.

It's step 3, it's semi pro paid football but it's a start at 18.

Nice to hear your lad has bounced back after the few knocks

Good luck to ya boy and I hope he makes it but more importantly enjoys it.
Every game is a massive experience and the eyes are always watching 👀

Stayed quiet...

They play the vile U21s in a few weeks.
Well done him.

My advice (as a fellow non-league player's parent) is be patient and if he's not getting in the team, go on loan/duel reg and don't be too fussy about the level, just take the minutes.

Non league managers tend to be quite old-school and generally want 'tried & tested' unless a young lad is exceptional so perseverance is key.

That's what my lad did and he's now approaching 100 games at step 4 as a 20 year old.👍

Best of luck.
STH on and off since 86. FML.

Best of luck. That would have felt special to him I'm sure. Never give up.

Cheers gents, he's absolutely buzzing to have played against and kept a clean sheet against a Blues team.
