Hi. I need help with cleaning my BBQ grill. I'm getting through a Brillo Pad every time I clean my grill. Tonight I cooked a Tom Kerridge chicken wings meal from scratch from his recipe book. It took me a good 20 minutes to clean. One of the main ingredients was honey. I think honey sticks to the grill more?

Tomorrow I'm cooking burgers which hopefully will be easier to clean off the grill.

What are your recommendations for cleaning the grill quickly and easily?
Return the Sausages
Buy new each BBQ
Don't let them fool ya
Or even try to school ya!

The wife ??
Don't do the Tom Kerridge ones
Cut an onion in half and rub down the grill with it before you starting cooking. Do the same when you've finished.

I've always been a big fan of Cif. Put a bit on the surface and rub it all over, then let it sit for a few mins for it to eat away, then add boiling water from the kettle on to it so its maybe a few millimeters deep, let it sit again for a few minutes to cool, then it should wipe out with ease. But yeah, if you're going to grill put something under it like tin foil.

Alright HCB
I have a nice BBQ grill.
I make a paste of baking soda and water and apply it to all areas letting it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing.

I did for a while but now I just sit a cast iron griddle on part of the area . Worth having.
I clean it with a wire brush and a small amount of liquid then dry it off.
Before I put it away I reapply a light dusting of extra virgin olive oil. And hey presto

Metal scourer and an enzyme based cleaner.

Pro tip: get a peeled onion on a fork, dip it in oil and rub it across and up and down the grill bars when they’re smoking hot just before cooking. It’ll make them non stick.

Tbf it’s unironically good advice. I used to do it with my cast iron chargrill bars after a busy weekend service.

Just make sure to dry and oil them well if they’re not galvanised steel.
Use a wire bbq brush. Don't bother cleaning the grill properly especially if it's a charcoal bbq. Just burn it. Then as Ribeye said stick a big fork in half an onion and clean it after you've burnt the grill.

Use BBQ cooking sheets.
