As an antidote to the dog whistle racism, questions about buses and transfer tittle-tattle, let's have a positive, healthy thread.

How far have you run this weekend and what are you training for?

Worcester 10k in a couple of weeks. Doing one of those Runna plans, have found it really useful. Usually just haphazardly train for a bit, the app plan has helped me loads, just in terms of learning to pace and train in different ways.

Intervals on Wednesday was fun, but skipped my long run on Tuesday as I was feeling a bit under the weather.

Then dead on 28 minute parkrun on Saturday. Once I’m done with 10k I’m setting myself a goal to break a 26 minute parkrun. Think 26:30 is my PB, but that was like 7 years ago. Getting myself back under 30 was massive for me.

I'm away so haven't ran this week, my running stuff has been ready by the door for the last 7 mornings.

Generally, I'm at 25km per week, fairly hilly routes.

Nothing concrete in the diary but aiming for the Derby half marathon late November. I want to get my 5km down below 25 mins, I did 25:16 back in May but haven't tried since.

It does wonders for me mentally. Need to drop another stone to get to my goal weight and going for a leisurely nice slow run burns loads of calories without feeling hard.

I love it.

Love that, Worcester is a lovely flat course as well, definitely one if you're looking to post a quicker time. Let us know how you go on race day!

I love Runna, it's very simple and easy to follow, but gives you the accountability aspect that I certainly need to keep me going and disciplined.

People get quite tribal about running on holiday. I definitely am a fan, just to explore the area as much as anything. Albeit, as you say, it's a great way to get an hour to yourself.

I might look for a backend HM for the year, Derby could be an option

I'm an old chunt and ran a lively 5k on Saturday morning at Sutton Park Run. It's a hilly course and I was well chuffed with my time of 23.19, certainly my course PB. Sadly I injured my left calf and had to wear strapping to get me around digbeth and town on Saturday. I would have loved a run today but will sadly have to resort to x training this week. This has been a great running summer. Shenstone 10 k end of September if I can get sorted in time

7.3 km (just since it is a loop from home, through a neighbouring village and back).
Kept it under 40 mins despite not feeling it.

I cycle and run because I enjoy it and to keep fit, no other aim than pushing myself.

3x 10k around Droitwich last week.

Tomorrow's a run day and I do alternative days so will be 40k this week (although Friday evening might be tight).

Lost 21kg now since March with the jab and running. 24BMI now, 5 more kilo to go. Sounds a bit extreme but it's flying off and it'll be needed because the belly is the last place it goes from.

Slow as eff. Don't care. Old boy too I suppose at 49. KRO

Old at 49???😁

I’m 60 & used to run fairly regularly & use the treadmill. Had a bad injury to my knee couple of years ago playing 5 a side, and can’t see my self running again as I just don’t trust the strength of my knee nowadays.

Still use the cross trainer though.
Always remember, if you’re going through hell….keep going.

Cheers Dayve.

I have a 6 year old who makes me feel very old! Proper dynamo type. Either 120mph or asleep.

Mate I had my back collapse over a decade ago. 12 months of rehab after an op. Don't think anyone thought I'd run again but if you're determined enough...

The training puts me off a marathon more than the actual race ever would,I just don't know where I'd find the time. Superb effort, best of luck with the rest of the training!

Derby is very flat. Less elevation climb than my regular 5km route.

I'm aiming for sub 2. I did 2.05.43 at Birmingham in May.
