Yeah I’d second what’s been said. Having Runna definitely brings me more structure and I like the AI analysis which factors in weather and elevation..

Currently training for my second Mara, doing Paris in April. Dare I say it, this Runna plan seems more forgiving than the one I did for London before. My body was broken last time round. Trains to a lower max distance, slightly less speed stuff and there’s more zone 2 stuff in it by the looks this time. Must admit I’m slightly concerned by that as I’m desperate to break sub 4 but I’m just gonna trust it

(Missed out on sub 4 by 25 seconds last time 🥹)

10km on the treadmill today due to the weather. Saw a few weirdos out and about early this morning in ankle-high snow.

There's a few from my running group going ahead with their weekly 5m around Sutton Park early tomorrow - feckin lunatics.

I've not really done much since that half marathon at the end of Nov, but didn't expect to lose my fitness to this extent in the 6 weeks or so since then.

I've done a few decent weights sessions and a 5k, then went last night for 5k again and my watch is now telling me that my training status is "Strained".

I quote- "Your fitness is decreasing and your HRV status indicates that you may be struggling to recover. Turn things around with a focus on overall health including stress, nutrition and rest".

I've just had Christmas and rested for over a month. Is this purely from eating shit for two weeks?

You sent this at 11:30pm. You need better sleep!!!
My HRV can be out of range if I'm getting ill - or had a load of beers.

My watch always says I'm "overreaching" with training if I do a few sessions in a week, so I tend to ignore it. Your fitness will come back as quick as you lost it though, those first two or three runs back are painful but it's just shaking the rust off!

It was a late night to be fair, me and Mrs Zigic were out at a concert at Lichfield Cathedral. I'm usually lights off at 11 latest.

Cheers for the reply though, I think I just need to push through and get my chronic load on the rise again.

I can see on strava that a few have braved the park already this morning. I'm going to leave it until about 3 pm. Should take stud by then. It might be slow going, but running in sutton park is just glorious with this snow cover. Kyogo will have a hat trick under his belt by the time I get back.

Treadmill for me at the moment. Despite packing on the pounds over the festive period and having a stinking cold have managed 3 x 5k this week. Just got to push on to get back into a routine- gets easier very quickly

A guy at work who was a seriously good cyclist always says you lose your fitness twice as quickly as you gain it.

I ran to work the other day but I've come down with a cold so I've not run since. I'm feeling ok though so hopefully will be back out Monday night for the club run

DM who quite a few know if starting the Spine Challenge today and you can track him 👍
