Long time reader, first time poster here. I'm still optimistic about our season so I've written a piece explaining why. I also looked a little more deeply at the set piece data that worries me, and offer a suggestion for improvement. Feel free to give it a read and let me know how wrong I am in the replies. Thanks and KRO!

Well written and really good analysis. I think there is a case for optimism- and possibly an even greater case for patience, particularly with our manager.

Good piece but I'm not really sure why you think getting Eustace back is a good idea. Are you just trying to start the debate again?

Oh I'm not suggesting we get Eustace back, apologies if that wasn't clear. I am suggesting we hire (or at least consider hiring) a set-piece consultant. I mentioned Eustace because his move to Derby garnered a lot of media attention, but there's a reasonable case that their survival was just as reliant on someone who garnered none at all.

Getting murdered on set pieces tonight, 2nd balls after Klarer wins the first are all Wrexham's

I believe that's Coventry. They've had 137 Shots, 43 on target. Interestingly they are also taking shots from the closest average distance to goal compared to any other side in the league. You can see why they're so prolific.

Nice facts, well presented. CD is no fool and will surely be looking at ways to mitigate our shortcomings

‘Not all chances are created equally, those created on counter-attacks are much more successful than those created against set’

An argument for leaving one of our smaller players upfield on opposition corners maybe?
