Honestly this is my take too. I didn’t watch as was at work but read this thread earlier so looked at the Wales team and nobody would get close to the England team.
I’ve always been a big believer in playing your best team and not the best players so not against that notion but let’s wait to see how they do against actual good teams before we decide this is the ‘best team’.
Honestly read comments on BBC. It is really weird.
Loads of comments about Jude being disruptive, where is the evidence of this?
Did i dream it or did Jude not play a big part in England reaching a final 2 years ago?
Yeah pick Watkins and Rogers in the finals just because we have performed well at home against a team with a defender who hasn’t played all season, a Swansea and Coventry player. Bringing Koumas and JJ on later in the game.
Should any player have a given right to automatic selection, no, but the vilification of Jude. Not Palmer, Kane or Foden is odd.
To be fair you could probably pick an England team that didn’t start tonight that would beat the one that started more often than not.
(This may also be bollocks but it’s a good midfield and forward to start with)
Fair comments in my opinion. Should be the same for every player.
Yeah, he's also only played one game since an operation.
No one is guaranteed a start, but let's see us play against a decent side without the likes of Kane, Jude, Cole first.
England played a Championship side last night.
Such a non-story, Tuchel would be insane to not start him next summer and I’m sure Tuchel knows that
Wales were absolutely pony, I could have looked good against them last night and I haven’t kicked a ball for years

Bottom half championship team more like
Wales were and are dross
11 x Jordan Hendersons would’ve turned them over
Whats going on here? The press are stirring it up but TT also seems happy to let them rather than back his player
Always said England should pick the most in form players, guess that's what hes doing and the squad will change when Bellingham is playing well again
NouCampThen where is Adam Warton? Won the FA Cup & Community Shield, now playing in Europe and went 19 games unbeaten until last weekend and he seems to be the exact type of midfielder we need sitting next to Rice yet he can't even get in the squad for a friendlyAlways said England should pick the most in form players, guess that's what hes doing
You can't just pick your team on form alone though because you would be chopping and change every international break. Grealish, Wharton should be in on form. Rogers and Watkins, Lewis-Skelly, Gibbs-White have had poor starts to the season. There has to be an element of continuity
If Jude, Palmer, Saka can't play themselves into form or selection as the season goes on for their clubs then they are not guaranteed even a squad place. But, if fit and performing at a high level they cannot be overlooked for Anderson , Henderson, Gordon , Bowen, Loftus-Cheek.

Agreed, plus you need to have a structure and balance.
Can't just be constantly chopping and changing how we play from game to game depending on who is on form.

At what point does ‘form’ get replaced with ‘talent’ because Adam Wharton has been class for around 18 months.
So what we’re saying is no one is guaranteed a place just because they’re a big name, but it’s not based on form, it’s based on who has historically been good so we have some element of continuity?
It’s a none story Jude is one game back from injury if he’d played 6/7 games there is now way he doesn’t get picked ahead of Rogers who has been dross all year.
The fact this article is using Rogers as an example of how Judes not guaranteed a spot if he doesn’t perform makes the whole thing a load of rubbish as he’s probably around 2 more bad games away from getting dropped from the vile.
If we saw the likes of Jaiden Anthony etc in there then it might have some merit.
The Adam Wharton thing is a bit of a mystery, talented and has been in good form for a long term. It is just his injury record.
