Absolutely...
The sixpence coin (value 2.5p) only went out of circulation in 1980.
The shilling (5p) and the same size 5p were only taken out in December 1990 after the introduction of the small 5p.
WolvobluenoseI think child's admission for the Tilton end in March 1971 was three shillings and a programme cost one shilling. The programme included the Football League Review from memory. Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.
I remember the Football League Review- think it was monthly.
Wasn't there a magazine called the Beaunanza (or something like that) around that time? Can't remember what it offered over and above the programme, but I'm fairly sure there was one.
Pretty sure it was 50p, I do remember being horrified when Chelsea became the first club to charge £3 to stand in the shed. My first pint was also 50p a few years later at the social club dad used.
I'm pretty sure my dad paid 3 shillings (15p) for himself and 1/6d (7.5p) for me to watch from the Kop in Sept 1966.
Then his back went and we had to sit in the paddock for most of the matches we went to - there wasn't a child's price in the seats so I had to scramble under the turnstile to get in for 2 bob (10p) while he paid 4 bob (20p).
Of course it was 59 years ago, so I might be wrong, and, as others have said, I wasn't paying.
But for the Swansea match I paid £27.50, which is 183.3 times more than my dad paid for himself back in '66.

The first time I paid 50p for a pint was at the Elbow Room next door to the BRMB studios, this at a time when I was used to paying less than 20p. It was the only pint I had that night as I needed to get home to Longbridge on two buses.
Never went to the Elbow Room again.
First pint I ever had was before a Blues game at the age of 14 (73/43 season) (they'd serve you with little problem in plenty of pubs back then). The Oxford Arms IIRC, and I'm pretty sure my pint of mild was only 13p.
No idea on price. I went to a few games in the championship before promotion in 2002 with my dad. I remember we faced Coventry in one but can’t remember the season or the game. First proper game I remember was against Leeds in the first prem season
50p. 1975. Had my head ducked under the turnstile by my Dad.
Fwiw, my dad used to say the gate man was Tony Iommi's brother.
sheffield blueMy dad carried me in, this was 1968 so nowt for me, unless the turnstile man got a bonus from the old man.
Yeah my dad carried me in until I was about 8 u think.
Then it was an id card and a shakedown from the police.
No idea on cost other than that.
I paid nothing but my dad paid £1 I believe.
Was Darren carter's home debut vs Crewe. Got abandoned early 2nd half.
Hooked ever since.
