Bertie I think we paid a shilling (5p) adults half a crown (12 1/2 p)
I can't remember what year it was or the cost of the ticket as my dad took me and I was about 9 or 8
we lost 3-1 or 4-1 and it was in the cup against wrexham if I remember and Brian Hughes was playing for them , he tore us apart
big Trev was the manager
That sounds about right.
I think I went without pocket money that week, and was happy to do so. Felt special telling my mates that I had been to the match.
My first match was a cup game, against Preston in R2 (home leg) of the League Cup.
I've no idea how much it cost, but I've just seen a stub on eBay from the same year which says £2.20 for an adult. Considering I was 10 at the time, I'd hazard a guess that it was a quid for me and a couple of quid for my Dad. Programmes that season were 20p.
Bertie 2 bob off dad shilling to go in 6 penorth of chips 1 1/2 d each way bus fare living the dream
Mom used to work on Saturdays so we had to hurry back to Shirley on the Midland Red to get a meal ready for her when she got home.
Cambridge in jan 1990.
Lost 3-0, it was baltic.
The old man paid, so no idea.
Went with dad regular till the Stoke riot.
Then he pulled the rug on it after I almost got hit with a brick, made us go to watch Moseley play rugby instead.
Until I was old enough to go on me own, and went back to blues...
No idea on cost. It’s was 90/91 season.
I curse the day
My first game was back in April 1955. Dad paid.
I have the left-overs from his season tickets for 1959-60 season,
£5 in the grandstand for all Div 1 and reserve league games.
.....and I have his cup final tickets for 1931 (2 shillings - 20p) and 1956 (15 shillings - £1.05)

2 shillings is 10p and 15 shillings is 75p mate!
My first game was when Jimmy Greenhoff scored 4 goals and I think he missed a penalty and we won 5-4 against Fulham, needless to say I was hooked. 🤦♀️🫣
On another note, anybody remember a couple of small pubs on the Stratford road by the old big church, I recall one of the old guys in there saying they will never be any good ( Blues ) always will be a 2nd division club lol in some ways in all those years, he wasn’t far off being right.
