Iya Tom,

I’ve got an idea that will increase our revenues.

Create some kind of weekly or monthly BCFC lottery/raffle.

The club would technically lose money on it, but if it gives us a few million extra revenue then it is purely there to help us spend more.

If blues fans could put some money into a lottery knowing that they could win cash or prizes, and that it helped us spend, why not?

Fantastic idea.

The club would lose a few quid but raise revenue?

I’ve had a few but I think you’re either taking the p or you’ve had far more.

I'm sure he's noting this down right now.

It was extremely tongue in cheek, however if you don’t think they would accept a small loss short term to give them more financial wiggle room, you are deluded.

It’s almost like that’s their main aim at the moment. Do you think everything they do is to make profit right now?

Are there any clubs that run lotteries that go directly into the club's coffers? Is that even legal (just asking, I don't know). I know Wolves do one, but that goes to the Wolves Foundation's charitable causes.

Yes, it is.

They talk about revenue because revenue = more money to spend on footballing side. Revenue that comes as a loss = less money to spend on the footballing side - so not sure what you’re getting at here.

Not all revenue is profitable though. How sure are you that revenue that comes as a loss = less money to spend?

We know Knighthead have lots more money to spend, they just can’t. If a small loss meant that they could improve the playing squad, I’m sure they would do it.
Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. You’re only allowed to make a loss of £41.5 million over a 3 year rolling period. So any extra loss is reducing ability to spend on players.

The reason why increasing revenues from the new stadium will help massively is because the cost of building the stadium isn’t included, so any income from the stadium, less running costs will be able to be used, as it is now.

Happy to be corrected on my understanding

Because making a loss means we have less headroom under PSR so therefore less money to spend.

Depreciation on the build cost is indeed excluded, but would only be incurred if the club actually owns the stadium (as opposed to paying Knighthead an annual fee for the use of it and access to all its revenue). We don't yet know how the stadium will be financed or indeed who will own it but, if it is brought under club ownership then there will be a hefty annual interest cost that does count towards PSR. The assumption being (as with most investments) that the increase in revenues is greater than the interest incurred on the finance

With all the greatest respect in the world, anyone on here giving TW advice on revenue streams is like him giving us advice on shit pun threads.

So how would that aid PROFIT and sustainability? The clue is in the name, it aint revenue and sustainability

Perhaps they could open a US candy shop in Birmingham and funnel in billions, then get the shop to sponsor blues for £1bn. Joke, Citeh and a myriad of other clubs have already tried that model. WOrst case scenario the club gets liquidated and Wagner indicted for Fraud.

Also it is FAO not FTAO.

Most modern online lotteries are scams and/or a front for money laundering.

for those of a certain vintage , do you remember the true blue club ? , if memory serves it was £2 a week for a ticket and the top prize was £400 .

I did it and won 2x microwaves a signed ball and the £400

to my eternal shame i stopped my dd after winning the 400 quid and walked away with a tidy profit having only done it for a few months

All season you have been able to leave the Tilton through the disabled entrance at half time and get drinks at the fan Zone.

This week there were a group of ten stewards barricading the exit and saying you had to have a wrist band now to go to the fan zone at half time.

Whos daft revenue reducing idea was this?

The result was no one I was with managed to get a beer at half time.

Sir Tom Wagner would be going ballistic at this stupidity.

Additionally can any publicans advise, how hard is it to change a beer barrel?

The Cruzcampo barrel had to be changed in the Changing Room bar 30 minutes prior to KO

This is peak time, can an alarm be fitted to a barrel to notify staff when its running out?

You would think that would be simple? No?

The staff said they only know when its run out when the tap stops pouring but there has to be a better way?

Want to raise revenue? Allow people access to bars and keep the beer flowing.
