Shirley/Solihull/Kings Norton peeps having the faff of having to schelp in and out of town twice for a midweek game
The Number 8 bus will be busy or perhaps they could re-route some 50's, 6's and number 37 buses so they go to Sports Quarter rather than directly into town. That whole sector of SE Brum and environs currently reasonably (not briliantly enough for a super duper stadium but again okay for now) served by Bordesley station and buses that bring you within 10 mins of a steep climb to the ground
madEvery other set of fans in the country have the same issues. Usually with more issues added onShirley/Solihull/Kings Norton peeps having the faff of having to schelp in and out of town twice for a midweek game
The Number 8 bus will be busy
madSo you are expecting the sports quarter to be a major transport terminus?Shirley/Solihull/Kings Norton peeps having the faff of having to schelp in and out of town twice for a midweek game
You can get to all of those places easily with the projects I outlined previously.
Rab C NesbittHave you been asleep for months?
As I say, tremendous if you live right there or 90-odd miles away but there needs to be improved connectivity for those peeps 10-20 miles away, like they have for example in virtually all areas of London
It seems like you want to get picked up in a helicopter from your local park
Excuse me for butting in, but isn't this all part of the 2.6 billion Govt infrastructure grant? or are you saying it's all going on long distance infrastructure? I genuinely don't know btw.
Rab C NesbittI've raised that already at the recent Gospel Oak osc zoom meetingIt seems like you want to get picked up in a helicopter from your local park
Bluesince62 F.E.A.Me neither I just threw the original post out there hoping someone involved up high spotted an easy win there - new passenger service on an existing rail line passing the sports quarter with a reasonable distance between stations at this very moment being constructed so plenty of scope for another station right beside the sports quarter. Imagine Bordesley but better. Not that it's that easy as respondents have pointed out granted.Excuse me for butting in, but isn't this all part of the 2.6 billion Govt infrastructure grant? or are you saying it's all going on long distance infrastructure? Anything new will likely take more time to come to fruition than the stadium itself initially like when the new Wembley opened I imagine there'll be shed loads of parking space but we could do with getting out of that habit - some kind of network of driverless shuttles ferrying tanked up folk about maybe
madI can believe it 😁Rab C NesbittI've raised that already at the recent Gospel Oak osc zoom meetingIt seems like you want to get picked up in a helicopter from your local park
Certainly needs to be more integrated into the east side of Brum. Bus routes are easy to change although take some time. Road layouts beyond the sports quarter less easy to alter and need planning way out in advance.
Add 60,000 fans to the issues East Brum currently experiences in the run up to Xmas just imagine
If folks are expected to walk in and out of town to this sports quarter then the walks need to be more inviting, lighter, patrolled better etc... than they presently are
They will be. This is one time we should trust those responsible for building it

Yeah but surely you want to schlep in so you can spend sometime in that well known community hub The Spotted Dog?
😁 As stated months ago that isn't town. I class the Anchor as town but the Dog is too far out IMHO
The Dog might remain a handy stop off leaving a 25 minute? mostly uphill climb to the stadium - which 25 years ago I'd relish to be fair. Travelator might be required when I'm in my 60's
