With the mention of a trip to Middlesbrough coming up, I was contemplating the different modes of transport I’ve used over the years following Blues.
Special Train
Service train
National Express
Rackaflow
Everton Coaches
Slob Coach
BCFC official coaches (only once for my sins)
Transit van
Blues van carrying the kit (only back from game though - Sheffield Wednesday- Steve Bruce sorted me out)
Police van (about 6-7 of us….long story)
Car
Bus
Lorry (hitchhiked to Middlesbrough)
Taxi
Walking
Running (heap of a car broke down on M5 so I ran (a lot younger then) all the way to the Hawthorns. Get in just after kick off drenched in sweat and knackered. Worth it though, we won 4-2)
Ferry (part of journey to Lucchese in Anglo Italian Cup)
Plane (PL Asia Cup, Malaysia)
Bicycle (had backie (steady on you’re better than that) off a Dutch bloke getting to see us NAC Breda ‘84 preseason.
Bucket list: barge, helicopter, canoe, horseback and one of those Blues Boats down the Thames.
London Underground tube train?
Rail replacement service?
Tram?
I can only manage
Shank's pony, bus, special bus, Park & Ride bus, coach train, tube, ferry, car.
That's not one game.
Would be great to attend a game whilst freight hopping on the railway, obviously legally it brings a lot of problems, maybe would be possible if blues played a friendly in USA/ Canada where its a bit more acceptable.
Double decker bus to Newcastle.
First 30 minutes was okay, after that it was torture and I was in my teens then.
I've been to a few games on my motorbike.
