There is no doubt in earlier games that Paik was one of those guilty of slowing the game down. I can only presume that was because of instructions to do it.
Now, he is one of the driving forces and he and the team look far better for it

No one would be instructed to ‘slow the game down’.

One can only assume it was a confidence thing that was running through the team. There was definitely a tendency to pass backwards instead of looking for the forward passes. Maybe it's tweaks to the system, or personel changes, but something has clearly changed/improved.
