Pompey or Milwall?

I only saw the highlights of the former, and BluesTV - in a train - disturbed viewing of the latter.

Clearly the set pieces were the revelation v Pompey.

But I thought the movement for Gray’s and Stanno’s goals v Millwall were top drawer.

From my limited viewing, Mileall gets the nod.

But I’ll defer to those who saw the real thing!!

The timing of the Portsmouth one was more important with a lot of the attitudes surrounding the previous games. Millwall probably wouldn’t have happened without it either. We played some great football today at times, and it was against a good side who were below par, so purely on performance it was today.

Millwall. Pompey was a slightly odd result with the 3 set piece goals whereas against Millwall it felt like a more complete performance. Also supposedly against better opposition although I'm not sure about that - they had Wes Harding at right back and more generally looked shite to me.

Millwall have been absolutely smashed with injuries. Harding is their fourth choice right back. Their third choice had to play Centre back.

They are creating a steadily improving club there that has been around the play offs for a few years.
Harding had Demarai in his pocket I thought tbh, the one time he did get free though, he scored.

He somehow didn’t get booked for a possible red card offence.

I think Millwall overloaded that side as they knew they were weak over there. Thats what allowed the space elsewhere.

Yeah, he was very lucky and they did double up on Gray which allowed the space on the right.
It's great ATM, sides are having to choose who to double up on, him or Roberts, either way one of them is in the kind of form to hurt you.

let's not forget our right back is our third choice right back.

Dunno how you work that out when Bright Osayi-Samuel was on the bench last night.

Most emphatic was Pompey
Most impressive was Millwall.
Millwall were unbeaten away, played with confidence, were physical, and had a plan.
None of that mattered, once we hit our stride it was as comfortable win as you will see

I think the Ref took account of the conditions. Overall I thought the Ref was good, kept the
game moving.

yeah i though the ref over compensated for the conditions by not booking people for stupid tackles that could have easily been reds, there was another on cochrane too that looked very late

Better question is Wrexham last year (statement win early in the piece against fellow automatic promotion side) or Millwall (fellow play off's ish - in all likelihood - side)?

At one point late in the first half, I couldn’t remember us giving away a foul. I think we ended up conceding 3 only? Remarkable stat if right.

Total football is coming..
