Be interesting if come the 1st Jan we are in contention for the top two if Knighthead do stick or twist re investment...

Seen it mentioned before but I could see a couple of loans with obligations to buy if we're promoted to get a few heavy hitters in Jan, like Sunderland did with Le Fee.

I can see this happening as well. Ducksch is decent but he is the wrong side of thirty and he tends to fade early in the 2nd half. A heavy hitter in his position would be my preference.

Yeah when his good he is unplayable but when he is off it like last night and away performances his poor. I would be be for signing a number 10 especially if WW departs.

To give a sensible answer I'd be surprised (and not that bothered) bar a run of injuries to key players or another odd set of circumstances if WW never plays for us again

Farewell, "Meh" Prince. Thanks for all (well, a couple) of the great (well, moderately good) memories.

And Cashin can bugger off.

Make Roberts loan perm, use two loans to replace CH spot and to get a left back in to thwart CD's evil ploy to make Cochrane die of exhaustion.

Behind May and Stansfield Thor had more goal contributions in last seasons record breaking season than anyone else. Deserves more respect IMO

Thor overall was poor other than the first couple of months. He got 4 goals and 4 assists in his first 13 appearances which is obviously great.

He then went on to get 2 goals and 2 assists in his next 28 appearances including a run of 7 games without a goal involvement and then a 16 game run of no goal involvements. At League One for the money we paid for him was unfortunately a pretty average season despite early promise.

Despite being tall he is poor in the air, often takes extra touches which breaks up the speed of attacks and rarely goes for passes of any real range. His poor touch also lost the ball breaking down attacks god knows how many times.

Compare the pace of how we are now playing compared to how we played last year and he couldn’t keep up with that - swap him for someone like Ducksch and the downgrade for this quick attacking football is huge.

I think there’s a good player in there but we haven’t really seen it other than those first couple of months and i’m not sure he’s cut out for the Championship let alone the prem where we are aiming to be.

He’s also 27 so it’s not like he’s a promising youngster who has plenty of potential to fulfill, he’s likely at a level as good he can be.

Definitely need a left back

Dykes will be ok for the remainder of this season but needs to be moved on in the summer

If Kyogo can start scoring some goals he will be like a new signing

Ideally we need better cover at CB but likely we will stick with what we've got

Making Doyle and Roberts permanent would be unreal

AFCON starts a bit earlier this year so BOS will be back before the end of Jan latest anyway, Nigeria couldn't even qualify for the World Cup so unlikely they will go far into the tournament so could be back early-mid Jan

Dowell was more effective than WW when he came in. But lots didn’t want him back either as deemed not good enough for where we are headed

He will stay as we won’t get better for the money we have available.

Also think you’re being harsh, he played pretty well v Oxford and would have got an assist if not for Kyogo having two left feet. He has a good first touch and good vision with the ability to create chances with clever passes (see Anderson goal v Mansfield last season, among others).

My main concern is both seasons he’s missed large chunks of games with injury. I think ability wise he’s fine.

I could see us trying to offload Sampsted, Dykes, Thor, and Cashin if we can. I could see us signing RB, LB, CB. It might be one player to cover all three positions, or more likely 2 players to cover them, rather than us signing 3 defenders. We definitely need 2 though, even if the RB is only on loan. If Dykes goes we will need to replace him, hopefully with someone with height and pace.

Don’t think I am being harsh. He was ineffective against a lot of League One opposition and stats literally prove that to be the case.

He doesn’t have good first touch and vision - he shows that on a regular basis.

Some of his flicks and dribbling can be decent and cute touches in build up but he’s more limited than I thought he’d be given his record in Holland.

His best games for us were also when we played the closest to our current style at the start of last season. His drop off was when we moved from a faster attacking style to keeping the ball and smothering the opponents... though it might also have been a mixture of injury and adjusting to the UK.

I think he struggles when the game is slower and more focused on tight control, while playing a faster, more open attacking game allows him to get the ball out from under his feet and move better.
I do have the same fitness concern though, hopefully it will clear up and he can get a run of games from the bench.

Keshi’s fine……. It’s more Koumas for me. He may well go on to be a more than decent footballer, but I’m not sure he’s a ‘top 6’ squad player as yet which is what we are at least striving to be. I accept he hasn’t had many run outs so I might be being harsh.

As I’ve said before, we are a centre half injury away from a SHA meltdown so I certainly feel that needs addressing

Other than that I think injuries nearer the time will dictate any transfer policy

I think that's very well said. And I think considering the mooted £4 million fee, we could and probably should have expected more. There was the reference to the fact we were in a record-breaking season, but that if anything should have meant he filled his boots a bit more - but he didn't.

He's OK, but I don't quite see who he's going to oust from their position on previously-displayed ability and, as a consequence, I stand by my opinion that he's probably won't start a game for us again, and is one that could be got rid of.

Of course, now watch him start in goal v Southampton or something...
