i think the view that he gets done sometimes is kinda valid , but i think its because of how we play rather than a deficit in his game ,

He's used as the 3rd CB when we have possession which naturally allows space which you don't get with 4 at the back .

the Norwich goal was down to them exploiting the space in behind and in the first half last night it happened again , but i put that down to the opposition getting it right rather than Cochrane getting it wrong .

I'm going to 'out' myself, so to speak. I really, really like Alex Cochrane as he's a wholehearted, committed proper Blues player. Being totally honest though, I thought that he might be upgraded this season - the reason being, mainly, that I thought that CD would want a better passer of the ball this season.

I thought that he was one of the ones that was finding a step up difficult earlier in the season, but he seems to have grown into the role and looks much more at home now. I think that Dimi on the left offers a superb out ball for him up the line - sometimes, he's not helped by Klarer giving him a right footed pass that curves behind him so that he has to go and retrieve it (I guess one of the reasons why a left footed centre half was the preferred option) but I've been impressed with him particularly lately.

I suppose that's why CD is a manager and I'm just an old git typing on a forum in my underpants. Much to the consternation of the Co-Op store staff, it has to be said.

I'm not being funny but what full back doesn't get beaten sometimes in world football?

It's normal. Think how many times Gray and Roberts go past full backs.. it doesn't make them useless

He's solid. I like his work ethic, he leaves everything out there shortcomings and all. I think he has the potential to be caught out now and again, and I would like to see him overlap Dimmi a little bit as he seems to (instructed or not) told to support not overtake, presumably to keep us solid. I actually think his final ball is very good - would like to see us use it more often.

I'd like to see cover or competition for his place brought in for January, but that's not a comment saying he isn't good enough, I just think every position should have decent cover and his is one where we are lacking in depth.

A really good addition might push him to get even better to be fair to the lad.

He has been magnificent. Good defensively and good offensively, as others have said, he's not the quickest but positions himself well.

This 100%

Yeah the question marks were over his pace. But 90% of defenders would get done for pace against the lad from Newcastle

He’s been good of late, can see why he’s so popular with CD

I was worried at the start of the season, but he’s been great since the tweaks we’ve made to the team.

Do you I think we should look for better, of course, but he’s been decent since he’s been here. 👍

Grown into the league massively. Will always be wingers quicker than him but he really seems to have improved his positioning and timing of stepping in.

Happy for him he never gives less than 100 percent but was worried for him in this league.

The meltdown after he had one poor game at Stoke was ridiculous.

He's a more than good enough championship left back. We need competition for him in January, unless Buchanan is fit again by then

In a recent Blues Rising episode on YouTube they had Buchanan on who said they're targeting a January return and that he's on track.

He was always fine, some people wrote him off too early - like before the season started. Not sure why, other than it's what people seem to think they need to do.

He's a perfectly decent Championship left back.

I think people don't understand that sometimes you come up against a very good player or a player at the top of their game and they are going to beat a full back now and then.
